The Kennedy Center was going to be renovated but liberals were outraged that the facility was to be named the "Trump- Kennedy Center" and found a liberal judge to force it back to the Kennedy Center.

Liberals from coast to coast rejoiced. However all the donors that were going to finance the renovations pulled out.

What do you think will happen?

Hey everyone, I was watching a podcast interview with an independent artist talking about ownership, and it completely blew my mind. They were talking about how streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music have completely ruined how we appreciate music because we don't actually own anything anymore—we’re just paying monthly "rent" to listen to our favorite tracks. On top of that, Spotify and Apple Music barely pay the artist anything, with streaming payouts drying up so badly that creators can barely survive off digital plays alone while corporate tech giants divide up all the profits.

They even pointed out how digital files can literally be swapped out or changed overnight without our permission (like I heard what happened of a viral TikTok EDM song cloned an AI voice and the platforms completely changed the track on people's downloaded playlists). If your phone dies, your password gets lost, or a platform deletes an album, your entire music history is just gone.

It made me remember how different it felt saving up to buy a physical CD or vinyl record growing up. You stood on line, looked at the lyric booklet, and listened to it front-to-back until it skipped because it was yours. Now, because of streaming convenience, people just listen to an album for a weekend and immediately move on to the next trend.

Do you guys think physical media needs to make a massive comeback so we can actually own our music, support artists directly, and appreciate the art form again? Or are we too dependent on the convenience of streaming to ever care about physical copies?

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the current music landscape lately, and honestly, it feels like we’re stuck in a massive cycle of fast-food songs. Everywhere I turn on TikTok or the radio, it’s just mediocre artists throwing together a quick 15-second viral loop, blowing up for a month, and then completely burning out to make room for the next copycat. It feels like our generation doesn’t have its own definitive music or timeless household stars anymore.

I was reading up on how old-school labels used to break legendary artists, and it made me curious about an idea. What if someone put together a high-concept compilation album that functioned entirely as a musical talent incubator?

Like, instead of chasing established mainstream charts, a producer goes out and finds completely undiscovered, raw independent artists with massive star quality and true penmanship, and brings them together on one massive project to launch them into stardom. No heavy, robotic Auto-Tune, no lazy songwriting committees—just raw, clear vocal authority and authentic storytelling over heavy, timeless rhythms.

Do you guys think a project like that could actually shake things up and redirect the future of music back to something real and substance-driven? Or is the current industry too broken by algorithms for genuine homegrown talent to become true stars again?

Wife and I divorced about 6 years ago due to her infidelity (caught her in bed with another woman, she tried to justify it with 'it's not cheating if they're of the same sex' ).

We have 50/50 custody of our son, who is 16, and I pay a small amount of child support only due to shared custody, and alimony is not a thing here. I also pay for bigger expenses for him myself.

Since the divorce, I've done well for myself, getting a substantial promotion to the point where I'm making a lot more than the pair of us combined when we were married, and I've got a few investment properties.

Recently, I was diagnosed with a certain stomach issue that's going to require surgery and a good 6 months off work. My doctor said the surgery has a pretty high success rate, but just in case, make sure my affairs are in order.

I talked to my lawyer and so now everything I own is in trust, with myself as a sole beneficiary, and if I pass, my lawyer will administer it. If I die, the trust will continue to pay child support to my ex up until he turns 18, then, everything will go to him - properties, assets and money. If any large expenses related to my son crop up, my ex-wife can take a receipt to the lawyer and he will verify it is a legit expense for my son's benefit and reimburse her half. NOTHING will be given to her if I pass.

I sat her and my son down to explain this, and instead of being concerned about my health - I would have thought 10 years of marriage would have made her care a little, but boy was I wrong. She hit the roof when finding out how things were structured, she said I should essentially leave everything to her and she will look after our son, but well, she's terrible with money and is trying to do anything she can to not have to work for a living.

Our mutual friends and relatives are split, some agree I did the right thing, some believe I should leave her _something_ as she is the mother of my child.

Am I in the wrong or not?
