Questions: Relationships

Long ago when I was 10, my parents took me to both occupational and speech therapy. I was battling socializing. They removed me from my previous school upon finding out my classmates were treating me horrible. There were only two girls in the class that were always nice to me and they told my parents about the bullying. I went to another school full of new classmates with my similar issue.

Eventually I was able to socialize better by the time I was in High School. I was already placed in regular classes with 30 students. I went unnoticed and no one knew my past. Though here is the issue: I've been masking this whole time to the point I can pass as a typical, outgoing person. Though I'm exhausted by the time a party or large social gathering ends and really need some quiet time by then. I already know how the environment operates, went over many scripted conversations and scenarios during the whole time my therapists helped me and also gained experience over time.

However, I'm aware this is strongly genetic. My paternal grandmother had that too and so does my mother's aunt. So yes there is a chance my child can inherit this from me. I'm currently going out on a date and seems like we might get in a relationship soon. Should I share this information at some point? My parents think that's something no one else needs to know.

What if I never tell him that and then years later, we have a child and he/she ends up having my same social disorder? Would you want to know this if you were my boyfriend?
