The consequences of an abortion afterwards will punish women or the doctor performing it. States like Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio make no exception unless the woman's life is in danger. This includes rape and incest. Ohio wants to add on to the bill by banning most birth controls available to women or by making it illegal for insurance companies to cover their costs. Ohio also wants to add that doctors must attempt to save an ectopic pregnancy (fertilized egg being stuck in the fallopian tube) by requiring doctors take the egg out and putting it in the uterus, a procedure medical experts say is impossible, does not exist, and would severely harm, if not kill, the mother. Under the bill, it would also require a woman to basically wait for an ectopic pregnancy to become life threatening. It would also make it illegal for insurance companies to cover abortions that are a result of rape or incest.
