I had friends in college who weren't just from Pakistan and were from other religious backgrounds in Asia and the Middle East who were in constant fear everytime they visited their home countrys with family but they may be made to have arranged marriage or arranged marriage with a relative as well.

I come from a very diverse city were pretty much half the population have Asian heritage. Most are very civilised and open minded but there are still the odd ones who are still very stuck in their way and have a different way of thinking usually it's the much more of the older generation who believe stuff like this is acceptable but most Asian especially young ones would probably feel very relieved or not be bothered at all by it.
I've actually had Asian friends make jokes about the whole incest thing and they make fun of the ones who are still acting like they've just came off the boat because not even in Asia do most Asians think like them anymore, popular western culture has caught up with them.

Coming from someone who has been raised and grew up with Asian people always around me and had very close bonds with i can tell you it would be very ignorant to paint them all with the same brush.
