I actually have this happening in two different cases. My younger brother treats his daughter like a slave. She is expected to keep the house clean, watch her special needs sister, go to school (online classes) and she is also working nearly 30 hours a week. When I say slave I mean, he refuses to do the work at all including taking care of his own special needs daughter. He refused to let my niece (she is 17) come over to see our new puppy because he didn't want to watch his special needs daughter by himself. He also makes her do stuff like massage his feet, bring him dinner and give him money from her paycheck to buy him fast food. There is more than just that, but these are just examples.

When she is 18 she wants to move in with my wife and I so she can get away from it and focus on school and having a life.

My friend (21) also has a very similar situation where her father actually bugs her apartment (he sometimes stays there and pays rent since she is a full time student) to listen in on her conversations. He says he is only paying for her college so she becomes a doctor where he can then retire and have her support him financially for the rest of his life. She isn't even sure she even wants to be a doctor and has major medical issues that her parents ignored growing up that could have been fixed when she was younger. Her mom is not better honestly. I have sort of unofficially adopted her and she does things like movie nights with me and my family (our kids see her as an older sister), but mostly I just try to help her build confidence in standing up for herself.

Given the situations, would you help or stay out of it?

It's based on this film called Mimi in which an American white couple is searching for Indian surrogate mothers. But midway they come to know the baby has Downs syndrome and decides to run away leaving the fetus and the surrogate. The surrogate decides to keep the actually healthy baby and raised him as his own. But the couple finds this and comes to take the child back after 4 years. But the surrogate and her family is deeply attached to the child. At the end, the couple decides to adopt another child and leave their own kid with the surrogate.
While what they did was a dick move, the end still seems unrealistic since it's still their flesh and bones

So the question is would you still want to take back your child had you been the couple?

I mean of course the parent gets to be the main one to decide since someone had to point that out on the last post as if it wasn't obvious. But as i mentioned on the other question, I always wanted to have a lot of children. However thats because i thought I’d get to start early like age 18-24. That didn't happen unfortunatelyy. In last nights dream i was waiting on pregnancy test results and I don't know it was a beautiful moment. Anyways, If i could birth at least one happy healthy baby, I’d be the happiest. I prefer not to birth more after the age of 30. So i really only have like 3-4 years left. In that time, I should definitely be able to have at least 1 child. But because its so late in the game, I’d prefer to ask the kid if they want a sibling. Ideally, at this rate, I’d have one kid at 27 and another at 29. However, if the first doesn’t want a sibling by time they turn age 2 or 3, then i would just adopt the other child sometime after age 30. So yes, I’m still calling the shots but dont you think its right to ask the only child for their input? #FeelFreeToList #BabyFever

I have 3 bros on my dad’s side and 1 sis on my mom’s. I’m the oldest child. I see two of my bros maybe once every 5 years. I've met the middle bro only once and he was like a newborn lmao. I live with my sis. When i was an only child, i loved it. I got all of my moms attention and loved it. When my sis was a kid i had to share the attention but since she's become a teen, i get all the attention again haha. Anyways, I used to want to have 12 kids of my own. But since i didn't get to start as early as i hoped, I’d settle for at least one child. Because i really have no intentions of birthing more children once I’ve reached age 30. Once my kid aged up, about 3 years old, I’d ask if they want a sibling and if they say yes, then I’d adopt a child of the opposite sex. What about you?
