I had a girl on my 8-9 yr old team, the coaches daughter, and she sucked ASS but played the only positions that are any fun in little league... so one time after sitting in the outfield for like 30 minutes with nothing going on, the ball was hit kinda my way but far enough away where I'd just be running over to pick it up and throw it to "Taylor" (her name). she started screaming GET THE BALL GET THE BALL. I just stood there. EVENTUALLY her daddy said "TAYLOR GO GET THE BALL" and she ran all the way there to pick it up Lmao.

Obviously metaphors change over time. "Netflix & chill" has replaced "Hanky panky" and that's fine. Languages evolve (except the damn French & their purity council but that's for another question) but does the changing of metaphors represent that we are less widely read, historically knowledgeable or biblically literate? Or is it just natural evolution?

Do you make any assumptions about people if they don't know what a "Catch 22" or "manna from heaven" mean?

Other than the Bible & Shakespeare NO ONE has given us more words & phrases than the Lost Generation / Roaring 20s. They are simply delightful!

At the end... your Tesla is trash and goes to the dumb... I mean dump. Fire department on hand in case of a battery fire... which would be really cool, but dangerous.

You keep the $ raised because... here's the benefit... you need to buy a new car, or some bus tickets or a bicycle... but you boost the economy by buying somethign else! All, while disposing of your garbage Tesla you were gonna save the planet with.
