Why has Basketball been turned into a contact sport, when James Naismith's original rules forbade ALL physical contact?

Also, why don't they ever call travelling or "carrying' in college or NBA? If you take 3 steps that's a violation. If your hand goes under the plane of theh ball while dribbling, that's against the rules. They do that ALL THE TIME and never ever get called for it.

Luka Doncic commits a CHARGING VIOLATION literally every time he touches the basketball , and I've never once seen him get called for it. Backing into your opponent is ALWAYS a charging violation onthe person with the ball.

Any intentional fouling whatsoever is supposed to be an automatic ejection. yet they intentionally foul one another at the end of the half and the game clock 5 and 10 times in a row now in modern basketball.

By the way, I'm an 80% free throw shooter even with little or no practice. How does anyoen get into tthe NBA and cannot even shoot 70%? I consider 80% free throw shooting as the bare minimum to be considered competent at the game.

I've been an 80% free throw shooter on a 10-foot goal ever since I was in the 4th grade. I beat the high schoolers in the high school shootout when I was in the 4th grade. I still have the blue ribbon award to prove it.
