As a guy who was in a co-education gym class, I can tell you that it didn’t make a difference. Girls often paired with girls, boys often paired with boys in terms of teams and the teams were pretty well rounded because everyone was playing for fun, no harsh competition. When teachers selected teams they’d keep it well rounded with mixed gender.
When we had a co-education gym class, we had separate locker rooms, separate bathrooms, and a male coach & a female coach who we could seek out for guidance or assistance if need be.In my opinion, it doesn’t matter because kids are being kids, interacting with fellow kids is awesome especially when you all do a physical activity that you love. It was always a variety of activities in my school, so if you hated one the next week or 2 would be a new one that you’d be interested in more.
Now, when it comes to ‘professional’ sports like boxing where there are sometimes male and female opponents duking it out, I believe it works and adds to the spectacle. Sports are a spectacle after all, entertainment seeing one person beat the crap out of the second person also vice versa. Maybe there should be mixed gender leagues like baseball, golf, axe throwing, Chess, basketball, American football, rugby, you name it! I’m sure a lot of men, women, boys, girls would love to see it.

I played hockey with a girl who was very skilled and fast. She played on our team to improve her skill level. ( She now plays on the Canadian national team and the PWHL) She had no problem with the body contact. She gave as hard as she received. Now we where 15 at the time. Could she compete with NHLers? No. She would be murdered. So to make a general bad is not realistic.

I see no problem with mixed sports. If you want to sign up for it, knowing that there may be disadvantages on a physical level, or you may get smashed up in the face or body, go for it. Just saying no to it with no real reasoning behind it, should not be a blanket cover to end the practice. Being in a sport with one solitary gender doesn't mean you're protected in any way. Quite the opposite. Physical differences between HUMANS have always existed, and again, you sign up for those risks when you join any sport be it mixed or not.

I completely agree, it should be a choice to be beaten lol

I played college soccer and we would scrimmage with the highschool boys varsity team every year, it was extremely fun but we would get slaughtered lol... They're just too fast and too intimidating! Like the other opiner said, we would play them just to have better competition than playing girls that had our same skill level. You could tell they weren't even playing at 100% at times. We did have fun though!

Don't worry, the way guys talk after the game with a scrimmage like that in the guy's change room is probably like, "bro I got so close to her playing defence, I wish I asked for her # but I was too intimidated to"
AI Opinion

There are valid arguments for gender segregation in contact sports due to physical differences that can affect performance and safety. Men's and women's bodies generally have distinct characteristics that may impact how they play and experience contact sports. However, some believe in mixed-gender play for inclusivity or skill development. Ultimately, maintaining a focus on safety and fairness is crucial while considering evolving perspectives in sports. 🏀⛹️♂️🤾♀️

I mean, even within' the same gender there are WEIGHT classes for a reason. So not separating boys/men from girls/women is a really bad idea.
In almost any fight the heavier person has the advantage. Height helps too, but it's mainly just weight, as there's weight classes, but not height classes.
So men are usually heavier than women, right?
Plus, testosterone vs estrogen also makes men stronger than women.
So heavier, plus testosterone... women stand no chance, basically.
Unless it was a really heavy woman against a really light man. Then the woman could have a chance. But that's a relatively rare scenario, as women are usually lighter/smaller by default.
00 Reply Contact sports spin the bottle twister when it comes to fighting no fuck no There is no reason for it A man is going to hit three or five times harder than a woman. And what there might be 1 bad ass girl that hit a guy hard to who cares No, you're talking about a self-defense class and they spar together.
Yes, go for it. There's nothing wrong with that, but to get into a battle with a woman. No, not either. She's wrong. Message everywhere, especially younger kids. It's ridiculous. This and I know some bad a** girls. That would kick your a**But do I want to watch them fight? No00 ReplyBeing someone that actually has hurt a girl on accident despite holding back I still knocked her unconscious during our sparring match with a gut punch in spite of that.
So I lean more towards having it segregated for their safety because I do know from experience how easy it is to hurt them accidently. And also a lot of women don't truly realize just how much stronger we are then them physically.
And when it comes to sports like Football ( American football ) women should absolutely never be allowed to play against professional NFL players they would get literally get killed.

Never is a strong term, but I agree with that statement in principle. Contact sports between males and females should be avoided. There are too many biological differences to make contact sports between males and females fair.
11 Reply- 1 mo
As it is, males and females are built differently.
I know this is probably a stereotype but it’s been said that men have the advantage.
Don't have any strong feelings either way. Sports is about competition and the best of the best should rival each other. Separation makes evolutionary sense considering men and women have different physiological genetic make-up and that affects pretty much everything to do with combat sports and the ceilings you can hot as a man vs a woman but your own ceiling? That's individual.
21 Reply- 1 mo
Separation makes evolutionary sense because women are weaker and men like to protect women, but In casual or exception it should be woman individual choice.
I think it shouldn't be segregated in my school they asked what we preferred and we all preferred to play sport together no matter which one it was it's ways more agreeable to do it together.
After for real competition it's better segregated as men are better and it's more interesting to watch men do sport in competition.

For children? Yes boys and girls should never play contact sports together. That's child abuse.
For adults? If that's what they want to do that's their business let them do it.
Like a lot of other things it depends on whether or not you're talking about children or adults. Adults should have the minimum amount of restrictions imposed upon them by law and should be able to decide things like this for themselves. That's what freedom is about.
06 Reply- 1 mo
As with contact sports, gender segregation needs to always be there. Men are to compete against men only and women are to compete against women only.
- 1 mo
I don't agree with the "always" part. If both the men and women are adults, and all the participants agree, then no one else has a right to prevent them from competing against each other.
- 1 mo
You can’t tell the difference between a man and a woman? Geez!
- 1 mo
You can't tell the difference between freedom and tyranny?
What gives you the right to tell adults that they can't compete against each other? That's none of your business. - 1 mo
I know the difference between freedom and tyranny. That’s not hard to figure out.
Still on a professional level with sports men and women are to compete separately. Like basketball, they have an NBA which is mens and a WNBA which is women’s obviously. - 1 mo
That's fine. I have no objection to that. What would I do object to is trying to control what consenting adults want to do with each other. That's no one else's business but theirs. If they want to play sports together it's none of your business or anyone else's, and especially not any of the government's business.
No. There is nothing wrong with kids under 10 competing on coed teams in, say, soccer.
When I was 11 or 12 my friend of the same age and I played 2-on-2 football with 8 year old twin girls. We were very closely matched and when my friend and I would play whoever had the better teammate would win. The solution? Twins.
00 ReplyThey should never be allowed to fight each other in contact sports!
If a man beats woman, even in self defence, he wins the title of a wife beater. If a man looses to a women, the woman wins the title of a crazy bitch or a man. There is no winners!00 ReplyI think they should be fair opponents… the girl should be as strong and vise versa and willing as well ofc which I assume in that case they’re aware of injuries, etc

I think competing and training are two different things. I did jiu jitsu for six years and it’s very close contact. I think training with men was helpful to an extent but no way would I compete with one at a competition. That is next level and it would be completely unfair. At the end of the day, I would prefer to train with women.
00 Reply you can't just assume that every woman is physically inferior to men. some women are stronger than men. I am an example.

Contacts sports in general are a bad idea regardless of the sport being done by the same or both genders.
Injury and death in contact sports are common.00 Reply Sub Olympic level, men and women generally enjoy playing sports together. I don't understand how that is a bad thing to do.

No!! Not at all!! Some contact sports are fine... Like roller derby! Seriously it depends on the sport
00 Reply I don't know if I would use the word "should", it would however, be a horrible idea for girls. They would be overmatched in virtually every situation.
00 ReplyThere should be no segregation.
The current system is "Pro" and "women only" there is no "men only" category.
Women were receiving special treatment by being given a pity category in the first place, they are being ungrateful, it should be taken away from them.02 Reply- 1 mo
I say segregation between the sexes need to be forever. Males only compete against males and females only compete against females. Just as men and women have separate restrooms and it needs to be that way forever. No integration.
