I started feeling depressed and anxious due to the fact my mom wouldn't let me learn to drive at 18 as I was quote and quote irresponsible. This past fall at the age of 19 I started college. At 18 she had stolen my legal documents from me. To this date my only legal document that I can access is my state id. I decided to obtain my birth certificate through the state behind her back. But unfortunately she went through my things and found it. Afterwards she ripped it up while lying and stating that she accidentally threw it in the washer. Ever since I started college last semester I have been getting solid grades (above a 3.0) and within the last few weeks I got a job at my local AMC theater. Within the last weeks she has been forcing me to take random drug tests due to the fact I choose to smoke weed occasionally with friends after school/work. I feel like she is violating my privacy by doing so. Is this a reasonable course of action on her part? I'm now 20 years old and I have almost zero driving experience. I sometimes hate myself for this reason. She states she wants me to be honest with her about what I do etc etc but when I tell her the truth she disapproves of who I am. I don't bring drugs into her house or anything. She also forces me to visit a psychiatrist/counselor. Whenever her partner stands up for any of my causes she threatens to leave him. She has exaggerated the truth about some dramatic events that have occurred in my life and as a result she forces me to take pills every night while standing over me and watching me so she can feel assured that she is helping me. The only medicine that has helped me get rid of my anxiety/depression as an individual is my marijuana. I think I need to save up for my own apartment so I can get my life on track. What do you think?
