Search Results: giving up holidays

We liked each other a few months ago, but he said we should just be friends because he is not ready or prepared for a relationship. However, today (approx. a month after he said we should be friends) when he walked past me he gave me a nod (as a greeting) with a wink. I am very certain it was a wink because some of our mutual friends walked past him in front of me and he only gave them nod, and when he saw me he nodded again with a wink. I went downstairs after that and when I looked back up, I caught him looking at me with a small smile.

I really don't understand this. He said we should just be friends, and from text messages he seems colder than before and doesn't care about me much, although he is not the type of guys that texts a lot. Today before class we were waiting outside the classroom and I caught him starring at my legs while talking to his friend (he's told me he like girls with nice legs before) and after that i could see him looking at me from the corner of my eye. However after school we were walking towards each other (we're going to opposite directions) we were staring at each other, and he slightly shocked his head and looked away? I was probably staring at him creepily without realising it tho, because I was talking to my friend while walking and I didn't realise I was staring at him until he shock his head.

Why is he giving me these signals? I am so confused! I am trying to get over him but it's so hard... Also, I was planning to ask him to do something with me over the holidays as friends, is this a good idea (p. s. he's s bit of a nerd, don't think he likes to go out much tho )?
