Search Results: at a table by myself

Tonight I had a family dinner. My mom, step dad, and some family friends were the ones to get there first. And once the table was ready, everyone started to pile in. My cousins (who were around the same age) sat at the far end of the table and we my mom, step dad, and I were close to them. I ended up moving one seat over and my uncle suggested that my cousins sit in a booth and my heart broke because I wanted to sit beside them.

My youngest cousin (16) came in with her father as my uncle and cousins planned the seating arrangements. So, my cousin's (16 year old cousin) father said that she could sit with my cousins (who were around the same age) and share a pitcher of beer with them.

My cousins let her sit with them, not even asking me if I wanted to. So, I sat there. Feeling heart broken, left out, unworthy, unimportant, and just horrible. Tears even began to well up in my eyes. I literally had to take a drink of my water to calm myself down.

Then, my mom told me (twice) that my other cousin (who's a year older than me) would come and I could converse with her. Which happened, but I was still pissed that my cousin's never asked me, but they let a sixteen year old drink with them!

Was I wrong to be pissed and feel left out?

They've also made me feel left out by not including me in their conversations, but they included my sixteen year old cousin.

I just wanna feel important, worthy, wanted, and just like people actually care about me. Is that too much to ask for?

And also, what should I do? Should I talk to them about how I feel? Or would that cause problems?
