Search Results: hard time communicating

So there's this popular guy on campus. I really like him, and have for a while. We've kinda had this casual friendship where we'll say hey in passing, or if one of us is alone in the caf or coffee shop, we'll eat or do homework together. He would get so excited to see me (Lately, not as much). When I interview him for work, I build in time because we always talk. If I go to the post office (he works there) I'm always there longer than I need to be because we talk. Well, my roommate is convinced he likes me. I'm not.
Example- I was in the coffee shop yesterday, and there weren't many tables. I had gone to say hey, and he immediately
clears off a spot to sit with him. We talk for a few minutes before he focused on his work and I got virtually ignored. Which is fine. Well the coffee shop is closing, and he starts talking to friends at a nearby table more than he had talked to me all day. It was 5pm, so he asked them each if they wanted to go to the caf. I got no bye, no nuthin. My roomie thinks he was nervous to show that he liked me in front of his friends, and assumed I would go. We all went to an event later, and our groups ended up having to sit together. I left my keys, and one of his friends found them. I think he knew they're mine. He offered to handle it, came over to my friends and I, and was like "Are these any of y'alls?" My roomie's like "He probably knew they were yours and wanted to give them to you without making a big deal out of it, so he was just nonchalant." The main reason she's convinced is because he's had a beard for years- I'm going deaf, and mentioned to him that I was having a hard time reading his lips because of the beard. A few days later, he'd shaved. She thinks he did it for me.
But like we haven't even swapped numbers. If needed, we communicate in person, social media (very rarely), or he'll leave a note in my mailbox (he works there and knows my box number, also rare) I just see little to no effort to spend time with me/communicate.
