Search Results: different ways to view relationships

How many times does a person have to be cheated on, heartbroken, abused, ghosted, used, etc before they realize that the problem might actually be them.
Though i wouldn't wish it on anyone, I understand these things happen in relationships and though despicable, they do happen. It just seems like some people either cling on to the same pattern even though it always ends up the same way. I believe insanity is defined as "trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results"...
I always assumed that once these negative events happen, one would take it as a learning experience and keep an eye out so it doesn't repeat itself but if found that with some, this isn't the case. After some thought, I think 3 times, because if it hits 4 times, the person might be beyond help. anyway, these are my thoughts on what i'd be thinking at least.

First time - It happens, could even be a good thing depending on point of view, a learning experience.
Second time - Maybe you missed something from the last experience, well, shit happens
Third time - Hold on, maybe I'm doing something wrong, or coming off the wrong way, or sending the wrong message. (this is the point where i believe people should begin to realize they might be the problem, be it their actions, words, or just picking the wrong people)

Some people may say the one time is good enough, but you would be amazed at how many people still go back to those situations. So how many times do you guys/girls think it should take a relationship to go bad before people change their approach?
