Women often say how men have so much easier than them because of not being paid as much as men in the workforce, goingt through periods and pregnancy (Something that men have absolutely no control over because that's just a part of biology/nature), not being able to serve in frontline battle of the military, being cat called on the streets and so on.

They disregard the fact that all men have to deal with much more responsibilities in life than women. We deal with higher expecation of how we should behave and live our lives. We face a much more rigorous and severe consequences for the same exact crimes committed by women. Men who are homosexuals or bisexuals suffer far more hostility from society than women are homo or bi. There are absolutely NO shelters or help provided for men who are domestic violence and sexual abuse victims. Women can be whoever they want (regardless of gender roles) without being ridiculed and frowned up on in this day and age while men will be frowned upon for it in this supposed "equal" and advanced era of the good ol' US of A. No one would ever give a shit about an under-aged boy's well-being while people will be so quick to be very protective of an under-aged girl from real world danger such as adult sex offenders and murderers.

Did you know there are different types of feminism? What kind of feminism, or lack thereof, do you fall under? Don't focus too much on the titles; please read through the descriptions. I couldn't include all the types, but I chose the ones that I feel cover the most territory. Also, I tried to make descriptions that are easy to understand, so don't get too upset if they're not up to your standards. Implicit - Women already have enough equality under law, and they're pretty much equal already. Feminism is exaggerated and unnecessary.

Masculinist - Men deserve more respect and should have different jobs than women. Feminist ideas negatively impact traditional ways of life.

Anarchist - Our society is a patriarchy (run by men) and is inherently unequal and rooted in history ("herstory"), politics, media and culture. It can only be overcome with dramatic change. (Also chose this if you believe in female superiority. Sorry, ran out of poll options)

Socialist - Women should break out of the traditional feminine lifestyle to become empowered. Traditional jobs and roles for women are ones of low value and lacking power (housewife, secretary, factory worker).

Womanist - Gender equality can only be achieved by asserting equality for everyone. Feminism tends to ignore or overshadow issues of race, sexuality, etc. (Chose this if you advocate for feminism for a particular culture)

Cultural - Femininity should be embraced and respected. Most gender issues come from our over-valuing masculine traits. Men and women shouldn't have to act masculine to be empowered.

Liberal - Inequality issues related to women can be fixed with activism and increasing awareness. Our current society is fully capable of having gender equality if enough people are aware and support it.

It is often the men who are expected by society to do all of this for women (being a hero and being overprotective of them). In my case, the gender roles are reversed. I've actually attempted to enlist in the military before but I was permanently DQ'd for medical reasons. My girlfriend on the other hand, never cared if whether or not I served and more about me as an individual man. She seems to really often care about my physical and emotional well-being for the past 3 months of dating.

It's funny because I used to generalize military women as women who become desensitized (morally and emotionally) and not as maternal after serving in the military.
