- Suddenly excluded him for practicaclly the whole month of Dec... refusing to introduce him to friends; he felt insulted and hurt with that action

- Badmouth about him to others and defamed his character, tarnished his image/reputation

- Literally made my father and others believe for years that he was a manipulative player that took my innocence and somewhat of a pervert

- Literally kicked him out of the house, told him that I'm not available, making him return home, which is 1-2 hours far. Then lied to me and others by saying he never stops by to visit anymore. She kept that lie for over 8 years.

- Took me with her to our homecountry, where I didn't want to go. I had the option to stay and fight for my relationship but mom kept saying ''I gotta take you away from him anyhow''.

- Issued him an insincere apology over the phone while expecting him to bring gifts when he comes (so he can marry me, take me back to FL... and help her with a visa too) and still holding that dirty image of him, still keeping the lie that he never visited me

- Insulted him once on my b-day, call him a loser and even said ''when my daughter goes back to her country, she'll find a way better man than you'' with a mocking tone

- Laughing and bragging to others that she made him cry and imitating the way he cried; saying that a man that cries is weak and the worst

- When he called, she purposely would tell him to come over and visit our places (knowing very well he had little money and there is a slim chance we can be together) as if mocking him.

- Basically my mother wanted to keep me away from my happiness. She purposely did everything to tarnish his image. He obviously hated her for the longest and only recently forgave her not because of her but because he wants to be at peace with himself, not live with the hatred anymore.

I’ve been seeing someone for a few weeks now and I’ve been enjoying my time with him. We live about an hour away from each other but he makes the drive to me on the weekends when we’re free so we can hang out. We’ve gotten really comfortable with each other (maybe too comfortable, he’s popped a zit on my face) but he has a toothbrush for me at his place.

My biggest issue/pet peeve is communication when we don’t see each other. I have really bad anxiety and when it’s complete silence for days, I always assume the worst and that it’s my fault or I somehow messed things up. We’re both young and he works a ton of odd jobs to make ends meet for himself. Which I understand is rough, he’s completely independent saving up money for law school tuition, rent, food, etc. He had a personal matter that didn’t allow him to work for some time so he’s been trying to catch up on that.

I brought up the communication before when it was radio silence for a few days and told him I assumed he wasn’t interested anymore, and he explained his personal situation. I understand. But the last time we saw each other, I jokingly asked if he’s going to go ghost again. He told me that because he wasn’t able to work for that while, he has a lot to make up in the coming week to make up for all that money he lost. Which means there probably won’t be time for our usual phone calls (they’re long and the nature of his jobs don’t allow him to get on the phone and I completely understand why).

It’s been about a week and I haven’t heard a word. I know he’s fine, he shared a post on his Facebook. I was upset because a simple text would have taken that same amount of time. At the same time, I’ve also been in situations where I don’t talk to people but I’ll be active on my social media.

Guys, because he warned me in advance that it would be a busy week or more trying to make up for all the money he lost, is that a legit excuse to be silent for so long?

I've got no idea what some people do in toilets for hours. One of my friends plays games on her phone, go to Instagram, and even reads news. I got surprised when she told me that usually it takes her around 20 minutes. For me, it takes less than a minute to finish my business. The maximum time I'd need would be 5 minutes. How long does it take you?
