Apparently, abortion is trending now.

Anyhow, I'm not sure if many of y'all are aware, but it is actually illegal to not serve pregnant women alcohol. How do I know this? I was a bartender for a few years, at least in Illinois it's illegal to refuse pregnant women. It is very complicated because what if we think a fat or rounded belly woman is pregnant and refuse? She can shut our bar down. Personally, I wouldn't be able to serve an obviously pregnant woman alcohol because I don't know, that seems wrong. I don't know if I ever served a preggo, but they weren't visible if I did.

Anyways, even though I'm pro choice, I always wondered this: How many pro choicers are ok or not with pregnant women smoking, drinking alcohol, doing drugs etc? Because we do argue for their bodily autonomy, and that includes that crap, unfortunately.

Personally, I guess for me I'm ok with abortions 1st trimester. After that, I think it should be reserved for emergencies. I don''t think people should smoke or drink regardless, but definitely not if you're pregnant. I would've gotten fired for it, but I would've refused a visibly pregnant woman alcohol. Why am I ok with abortions but not smoking, drinking, drugs? Well, as I said, I'm ok with them unrestricted in 1st trimester. After that, the fetus starts to develop more and more, it can feel, and even respond to stimuli. It is slowly becoming more than "just a cluster of cells", it goes from embryo to fetus at around 10 weeks and now it's resembling a human. I guess for me it's also when it's viable on it's own, and as of right now, it's about 24 weeks, though I don't agree with waiting that late to abort for no good reason.
Why am I not ok with pregnant women smoking, drinking, using drugs? Because it can harm the fetus, not to mention themselves.

TLDR: Are you pro life or pro choice? Should a woman be allowed to smoke, drink, or do drugs while pregnant?
