Y’all don’t have anything like Mr. America or Mr. USA where you can compete against others based on attractiveness. I really wish this was a thing. This can be a huge confidence booster as well. Y’all also don’t get paid thousands of dollars just to stand there and smile lol. I mean we can’t even take our shirts off without it being a public indecency or distracting people while y’all can. Except fit guys who do cause a distraction lol but not as much. So just wondering how y’all feel about it 🤔

Women don’t view unattractive men as “dating material,” no matter how exceptional their other qualities are, a new study finds.

Researchers at Eastern Connecticut State University looked at the mate preferences of 80 young women, aged 15 to 29, while also having 61 of their mothers weigh in.

The participants were presented with photographs of men varying in both attractiveness and described as one of three dispositions:“friendly,” “pleasing,” or “respectful.”

Additional trait profiles were explained for each of the three dispositions. Men labeled “respectful” included the traits ‘respectful, trustworthy, and honest;’ the ‘friendly’ men were labeled ‘friendly, dependable, and mature;’ and the ‘pleasing” profile meant that the man was ‘of a pleasing disposition, ambitious, and intelligent.’

The women were then asked to assess how attractive they found each man photographed, along with whether they found the man suitable to date, either themselves or for their daughters.

Simply put, men viewed as unattractive were not viewed as potential suitors, no matter the level of other redeeming qualities that accompanied their photos. Those with favorable personality traits that were ranked highly were at least moderately attractive.

“We conclude that a minimum level of physical attractiveness is a necessity for both women and their mothers,” says lead researcher Madeleine Fugère in a journal news release.

Mothers, however, didn’t shut the door on their offspring dating a relatively unattractive guy if he outperformed in other departments. But the younger participants wouldn’t budge.

“This may signal that unattractiveness is less acceptable to women than to their mothers,” says Fugère. “It might also mean that women and their mothers may have different notions of what constitutes a minimally acceptable level of physical attractiveness, with mothers employing a less stringent standard than their daughters.”

I feel there are qualities about me that make me cute (inside and out), but one thing that has bothered me for 3 years now is my teeth, my bite, and the general lower half of my face.

My teeth are really crooked and I'm in dire need of a palate expander (a metal device that widens the molars on the roof of the mouth) and braces. Because of this, my mouth appears crooked because one side of my mouth, the teeth come in a bit more than the other side, resulting in my mouth literally being/appearing lopsided.

This takes such a big toll on my confidence (because the lower half of my face is in such need of dental work) that I hate participating in class because I don't want people to look at me (even if me talking is entirely dependent on my grade, I won't talk), I don't approach guys I think are cute because I'm afraid they won't think I'm attractive when I talk or smile, and I hate meeting or talking to new people because I know it'll be the first thing they notice.

Unfortunately, it's not something I can cover up either, it's blatantly obvious that my mouth is crooked and my teeth are messed up.

If you saw a girl and she had a slight physical deformity without anything major being wrong with her health, but it was just the lack of funds that inhibited her from looking the best she could be, would you be interested in her?

Note: my teeth are like the ones on the left but the sides are uneven and look more like a misshapen 'V' shape rather than the typical 'U'.
