Nobody wants what’s coming, so nobody wants to see what’s coming.

The United States today is, once again, headed for civil war, and, once again, it cannot bear to face it. The political problems are both structural and immediate, the crisis both longstanding and accelerating. The American political system has become so overwhelmed by anger that even the most basic tasks of government are increasingly impossible.

The legal system grows less legitimate by the day. Trust in government at all levels is in freefall, or, like Congress, with approval ratings hovering around 20%, cannot fall any lower. Right now, elected sheriffs openly promote resistance to federal authority. Right now, militias train and arm themselves in preparation for the fall of the Republic. Right now, doctrines of a radical, unachievable, messianic freedom spread across the internet, on talk radio, on cable television, in the malls.

The consequences of the breakdown of the American system is only now beginning to be felt. January 6 wasn’t a wake-up call; it was a rallying cry. The Capitol police have seen threats against members of Congress increase by 107%. Fred Upton, Republican representative from Michigan, recently shared a message he had received: “I hope you die. I hope everybody in your family dies.” And it’s not just politicians but anyone involved in the running of the electoral system. Death threats have become a standard aspect of the work life of election supervisors and school board members. A third of poll workers, in the aftermath of 2020, said they felt unsafe.

Lawful Good: You value order and goodness equally and above all else. While you believe in goodness, you also believe that structure is a key part of that, because acting arbitrarily could harm others. Everyone must be rewarded and punished for their actions ONLY to the appropriate amount.

Neutral Good: You only care about doing good, not about chaos or order. You will comply with the law if it benefits the greater good, but you'll also rebel if they conflict with the greater good or are unjust.

Chaotic Good: You believe in doing good, but don't care about rules and order. You are a rebel, free spirit, or an anarchist. Doing good things is what you WANT to do, and you hate others trying to make it your duty.

True Neutral: You're not righteous enough to be good, but also not corrupt enough to be evil. You're not random and rebellious enough to be chaotic, but also not obedient enough to be lawful. Therefore, you are morally gray.

Lawful Neutral: Order (personal or systemic, and/or peace) is the most important thing. Good and evil are an afterthought. You will always try to obey and preserve it, even if a rule is inconvenient or you think it is annoying. Laws and rules apply to everyone equally, no matter what their status is.


Chaotic Neutral: You do not care about being good or evil; you do whichever please. Freedom and individuality is your concern.

Lawful Evil: You're a corrupt person, and you uphold or impose rules on others without caring about their wishes. If you're not a tyrant, then you abide by some codes.

Neutral Evil: You are selfish and only care about your own personal gain, even at the expense of others. You will work with anyone--good, evil, or neutral, lawful or chaotic--as long as it helps you in the end.

Chaotic Evil: You are corrupt, impulsive, and will do whatever you want, whenever you want. People, laws, and possibly the world, mean nothing to you. You can't be bought, reasoned, or negotiated with. You just want to watch the world burn.

Both these people have freedom. You want to take it away?
