Search Results: getting bad comments

So my family is longtime friends with family of the guy I like. We happened to go on vacation together a few weeks ago, and while my mom and his mom were talking, his mom told my mom this, "I think he's always liked her." I wasn't really shocked because she's made this comment before. Before she has said, "I know he likes her." "Oh no, he likes her." So she's said it more times than that, but those are the only comments I remember word for word. But I don't think he has told her flat out he does simply because she would definitely also have told my mom this. He also happened to be very flirty on this trip, in my opinion.

For example,
1. He'd try to "scare" me a lot. (Grabbed my waist a few times.)
2. He'd take snapchat videos of me doing silly stuff and save them...
3. He'd take my phone so I'd need to reach over his body to grab it, but still wouldn't give it back when I was on top of him.
4. We stayed up until 3am talking, sitting basically on top of each other (just very close.) 2 nights in a row.

This all makes me think he likes me, however, he never answered a text I sent about getting together. He also doesn't try and keep a snapchat streak with me. I don't know... I'm just a very insecure person and end up analyzing every detail. So anyway his communication with me is pretty bad, and you'd expect it to be good if he liked me I guess. He's also a very shy and introverted person... So by behaving the way he did, I was kinda sure he liked me. But because of him not answering my text and not really reaching out, I end up beginning to think differently.

If you could give your honest opinion or comment, please? I just really need some help, I've known him since we were little kids. I've liked him since the moment I saw him, and I guess I've always felt deep down something is bound to happen between us; guess that makes me bias. ;P

Anyway does his lack of communication mean anything, and his actions and mom's comments?

I love whales. They're magnificent and beautiful and amazing. My summer vacation is almost over and the hell that is my academic life will resume in a few weeks. Most of my friends have traipsed around the world but I'm both too broke and not clever enough to manage such trips wisely. I just want to see whales.

My parents like whales too so they want to join me on this trip which just involves driving a few states away, sleeping overnight, getting on a boat, seeing the whales, and going home. I just want my nuclear family to come. My mom has been hinting that it would be nice if I invited my 16 year old cousin along. She's hinted on 6 different occasions and I've said no 6 times.

My cousin isn't a bad kid, I just don't want to deal. My parents fight a lot publicly and I don't want her there to see that and report it back to her family. She also makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. She comments on my clothes and body freely and it annoys me. Her family is a lot wealthier and she just assumes we don't have a budget when we do. For example, my family of four went to a restaurant and spent 250$ there, it was a special occasion. Her family of four went to the same restaurant and spent 400$ there. I know if we take her, more money will be dropped unnecessarily.

My cousin's mom has pleaded with my mom to take her kid if we go on any short trips because she's wasting away at home. Though in reality, she's having a normal summer with her friends. She's offered to pay too, but my parents would never take that money.

Is it wrong of me to refuse to bring her on this trip? Is it petty?
