Ok I'ma describe him:

He never had much growing up as a child. His dad and mum were pretty simple minded? And his dad suffered from mental health issues. His dad was also quite an angry man from what I've heard, although he did love his family.

When he was 17, he dated a girl who was... wild. She cheated recklessly on him, became addicted to drugs and also had mental health issues, which he often had to deal with. In the end, that girl slept with someone else, left him, then got pregnant to some other guy shortly afterwards. He was pretty messed up about that.

Since the age of 17-30 he's had 15 sexual partners and was cheated on... multiple times. Some of the partners were one night stands.

At the age of 26, his dad died suddenly of a heart attack and he was left feeling absolutely devastated with a lot of regrets. About 6 months later, his mum who had been suffering from cancer, died too. So he was left alone with his brother and sister. His brother has severe mental health issues and has been suicidal before. He lives with his brother to this day, and his brother is very difficult to be around.

His sister then married a drug addict and gave birth to a disabled baby not long after.

And then? I met him. He took a liking to me because I 'wasn't like the other girls'. Things went ok. He could always connect physically with me? Tell me he loved my body, or that I had great boobs and looked sexy etc.

But trying to draw out any emotions was... so difficult. He never wanted to have deep emotional conversations. He could never apologise when he was wrong, his moods would swing constantly, he never seemed to pick up on my feelings and everything just felt so emotionally shallow.

He claimed to love me and all, but I could never truly love him because he seemed so emotionally dead at times. Of course, things turned bitter, didn't they? And he ended up getting really angry with me, so we split.

Today, he's still resentful towards me. And any kind of emotion he once had is... completely gone. Yeah, he'll still flirt and all, I sometimes wonder why that's the only way he will communicate with me.

I'm still a virgin and all, so we never had sex.

So, do you think he sounds damaged? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

We've been together for nearly a year, we started out as business partners and it developed into a very loving and committed relationship as we helped each other over some past hurts. He made (and still does at times) make me feel like the only woman in the world, adored and loved like no other but his behavior can be frustrating.

For example, if something goes wrong, even if it's his fault, he blames me by saying something along the lines "that wouldn't have happened if you'd listened to me" or "if you had done____, then it would have been fine" and my personal least favorite "I told you so, there's a reason you should always listen to me".

A little background... He had a pretty rough childhood, his birth mother was a crack addict and his stepmother abused him, his grandmother was the only woman that's never disappointed him and has been through a couple of bad relationships in the past which colors his view of things. I find I blame myself when he gets down and sometimes pissy because he doesn't do anything 'wrong' and he doesn't deserve whatever repercussions he has to face because of others actions.

He gets really offended if I disagree with him a lot of times and is quick to criticize me. If I stand up for myself, he says I'm being a bully and he won't be pushed around or forced to see things 'my way'. He monopolizes nearly every conversation and when I try to talk about myself or other subjects, he quickly turns the conversation to himself or one of his 'stories' that he tells repeatedly, as if I've never heard them before. Whenever I try to talk about anything, he seems disinterested at times and will even get up and walk away as if I'm not sitting right there beside him, speaking to him. If I call him on it, he says he's still listening but..

I love this man, am planining to spend my life with him, but I don't know how to handle his behavior anymore or help him see what this is doing to me. I'm inside out over i
