Originally when I met this guy I was 17. We've talked for around 8 months and although I wouldn't say I know everything about him, we are very close. I'm closer to him than any other person in my life and I feel like it is very easy to open up and talk to him. I also love how mature he is, though it is important to note that his maturity is not the only thing I like about him. However I have recently turned 18 and he will be 25 soon. We have been romantically involved only once, but only after I was 18. I guess I just want to know if a successful relationship is possible with this age difference?

I find it disrespectful to assume being a minor auutomatically makes a person uneducated, oblivious to what they are even talking about, and incable of giving decent information to someone of an older age range, etc. It is true that with age comes experience and that there's always going to be a lot to learn in life, but people undermine teenagers way too much. Age doesn't always define a person's maturity or mental capacity to make logical/rational decisions. It is especially interesting and thought provoking when 18 years olds tend to think they're so much better now just because they can legally smoke, vote, and go to bathroom without their parents up their asses.
