Teenage, Age,Family, Experience, Crisis, Maturity: It's ok not to be ok.

I'm french but I believe this can go out to anyone, anywhere in the world.

So, I'm 18 and for some adults having what is called a depression at this age is just putting a big name on adolescence crisis. Of course adolescence is part of ourselves at this age but we can't neglect experience. Some have grown up until 40 without any major problem in their life, good for them really, but sometimes people need to understand that it can happen that a 18 year old or even a 10year old have experienced more than anyone else. As for me I just had some big family problems at my scale, going to school was a relief because at home, everything was there, the bad memories, the emptiness, even when my mom gave me all the love she could, i felt empty, crying and screaming in my pillow not to let her hear anything but I know that some of my fellow teenagers have experienced way more than me. Also, we should all remember that we don't know what other people are going through. Sometimes even parents don't know what their children think about, most of the time actually. Even going through a big family crisis, some of us don't show that they're hurt to their parents not to add any more burden and parents actually trust that mask. Parents are strong in front of their child but we understand everything, children feel when they have to be strong in front of their parents because they're human just like a baby cries when his mother cries. We feel eveything. When we see our parents struggling because of any problem and even more struggling trying to protect us, we just can't bear going to them and saying what we truly feel. It's not a good thing for both to keep everything inside but that's just how it is. And talking it out, battling together is the best thing to do. Trust that's how it was for me until my mom and I just crumbled. And that's how we got out of it. I'm posting this because some of my friends are going through big things, I always told them this and it's not easy to follow advices, I know it and I know some people are going through shit no matter what their age is but i'm specially reaching out to teenagers. It's ok not to be ok. As for adults, I know you've been trough this phase too, but you never know how this phase is going for others who are in it. I believe that with time we all forget how it was and tend to minimize everything someone younger says or feels. Just like sometimes seniors laugh at freshmen, forgetting that they were the same. It's all the same, but it's all different. Time has changed. Also, age does not define maturity and knowledge, experience does.

Ps: As for me, everything's good now. My problems ended long ago even if one issue is still around and keeping me from being completely fine. Sometimes depression comes when everything got in order but your head and body still feel the aftermath. That's how I got it, I was diagnosed with spasmophilia a months ago. Scary how one word can describe all the physical and mental issues I got. Just got some herbal pills to take and now I feel a lot better in my mind and body. Happiness truly is hard to achieve. One thign that I can say is : Time heals everything but sometimes it needs a little bit of help. Just like I read somewhere: Nothing stays the same, the good fades out, the bad fades out too.
