To be clear, I’m not talking about intersex or gender identity, I'm talking about true biological hermaphrodites. Fully functional male+female reproductive abilities, you can get pregnant & you can impregnate others. In terms of what the average person would look like (body/facial hair, muscle/fat distribution) and how 2 sets of genitals would... work, I'll leave that up to your imagination. Keep in mind though, if everybody can have kids, they'll probably need a way to feed them.

This has been on my mind for a while, I'm wondering what people think the society, culture, and basic interactions would be like. Compared to our world, do you think this hypothetical world would be better? I can think of a few reasons why/why not.

Pros:
Best of both worlds - you get both parts, 2 types of orgasms, you wouldn't be missing out on anything. You could live whatever life you want. You want to take care of kids, you want to do hard labor, work in fashion design, get a PhD? You want to go out and seduce people into your own personal harem? No gender roles hold you back, go out and do it.
Twice the dating pool - no sex preferences, any crush could be 2-sided.
Gender Equality - no sexism, we could discriminate against people for other things.

Cons:
Overpopulation - everybody can get pregnant, birthrates could potentially go way up.
Plenty of people are happy the way they are - don’t fix what isn’t broken, right?
Worst of both worlds - can't have the good without the bad, everyone would have to worry about periods, awkward boners, and pressure to live up to various expectations. But also more serious issues like genital mutilation or sexual assault.

I’ve heard people say as a con that nobody would be unique, but keep in mind, people would still have different personalities, beliefs, etc. It wouldn’t mean the end of individuality.
All in all, it wouldn't be a utopia by any means, but I think that world would be better, what about you?

If gender roles really changed and women were the ones ruling men or taking bigger and more important roles would it be more comfortable for them?
With the hard parts and the privileges
Women will have more jobs but they would have to take care of men etc...

From the moment that babies are born, they are showered with either blue or pink decorations and celebrations. As they grow up, their acceptable clothes and hobbies are introduced to them by their parents. Little boys will be given toy cars, action figures, t-shirts, and shorts. Little girls will be given toy ponies, dolls, dresses, and cutesy clothing.

Gender is a huge concept that follows us throughout our lives. We are expected to consistently abide to gender norms, or else risk facing backlash and challenges from society. Some people love fitting into the roles how they are set up, and some people can't stand it. And there are many who lie in-between.

What is your stance on gender roles? Both male and female opinions are welcome, and I encourage everyone to be as honest and passionate as they'd like. I am truly curious!

Is it just me or do men not want to date STRONG and independent women? Do guys want women below them in any way (dumber, dependent, lower salary, weak...)?

Because I personally and honestly see absolutely 0 appeal in weak and depending women. That's like raising a child or keeping a woman as a maiden pet of some kind.
I only date STRONG and independent women.
Because what could be better when going eating out and you pay for yourself and she pays for herself? And dismissing gender roles. And just doing what you like without giving a F whether it's "typically male/female" or embarrassing or weird. And just having your life together just fine being single. And if something breaks then you or your partner can fix it either alone or together.

I am an egalitarian, I believe in true equality between the sexes. I believe both genders should get the same opportunities, I believes both genders should be viewed as equal in the eyes of the law, and I feel of a woman wants to fight for her country she should be allowed to.

Yesterday i got into a debate with someone who for all intents and purposes argued against such an idea claiming that women were too biologically weak, now i'm no fool i know full well the biological differences between men and women. However in his eyes, the gap between men and women were so insurmountable that women shouldn't even bother trying. He would then throw arm grip studies and basically his argument was Testosterone=Strength, Estrogen=Weakness. Both genders should just stick to their proper roles

See here's my issue with this, if what he is saying is true then yes, men are biologically superior to women in terms of strength and combat ability. But it's also a double edged sword. It also means that men are more disposable then women and capable of being replaced due to the fact that women can give birth and men cannot. If this is true then men are expected to fight and if need be die to ensure a woman's safety, it would normalize the mentality that a woman is free to leave a man to die in order to save herself, because that's what he's suppose to do.

If my asking around was suppose to make me accept that men and women can never be true equals it failed, in reality all it's done is make me more pro-gun. So here's the long and short of it, if what these people say is true and biology truly cannot be overcome.

"Women are weaker, but men are expendable" do you agree that this is true?

Personally a world where this mindset is the norm, isn't a world I want to live in. I understand this is a rather loaded question but there's no way to sugarcoat it.
