While few people hate black women, they are ignored in many ways unfortunately. Have you noticed that there is very few fully black women to star in movies?
I believe their are 3 main reasons for this:
1. Beauty Standards: In America many African features of certain African ethnicity’s are not as attractive, unfortunately. And while looks shouldn’t matter, they do, especially with women.
2. Perception of bad attitude: Black women in America are stereotyped as having a sassy and hot tempered attitude. While this may be true for some, there is plenty of black women without this, even in ghetto areas.
3. Masculine stereotypes among black people: America likes to stereotype black people with traits that are associated with hyper-masculinity. While a lot of these stereotypes may seem positive, I believe they are negatively affecting the perception of black women, and making them appear more unattractive.
I do not believe many people who ignore black women realize that they are part of it, and that is part of the problem. To help reduce this kind of discrimination we must introspect. And if we do not talk about it the problem will not go away. Most see at as, “I don’t hate them, and I like some black women, so I am not part of the problem” but the reality is, most people say this, so clearly more thought has to be done in order to help the situation.
Point is, fully black women are often treated differently than women of other races, they often don’t have as much of a feminine perception, so it alters how they are treated.

We broke up 3 years ago (my fault, combination of immature, scared, and got jealous of little things). I've been working really hard on myself to not be like that. Last Friday I went out to celebrate, got drunk and then text her. Following morning after woke up and realized I had become a stereotype of "what could have been" and immediately felt like crap. Ever since then though we've been talking for hours a day. She's single, I'm single, and she said that I have changed in all the right ways. I keep thinking maybe I'm just imagining it. But its at least 100 texts a day, and my heart races like it did when we first started dating. It definitely feels like it could be more than 2 people who were good friends catching up. Am I trying to find find gold in a silver mine here?
