I was reading someone else's comment about some silly relationship hang up about gaming and it got me thinking about why I play video games in the first place. Boredom usually is the reason unless it's an exciting/ long awaited sequel to a game I'm a fan of. But the poll is there to help get ya thinking, add your own reasons if I missed one.

Most art critics would say no but there was also a time where films were not respected as legitimate art forms in the first decades of the 1900s.

Today it seems more and more that video games are becoming more and more artistic with complex narratives, a musical score and stunning visuals but the debate about weather they should be considered an art form continues.

At this point the video game industry makes more money then books, films and music so at some point they may gain equal respect to films and music.

Maybe the game awards would be considered equal to the EGOT awards (Emmeys, Grammys, Oscars, Tonys) in a few years.
