My mother never liked my 1st boyfriend (now ex boyfriend) and sometimes badmouthed about him so much. My father didn't like him either but wasn't as antagonistic as my mother. I've spent years trying to prove her wrong without any success. I never got the loving, peaceful and sincere reunion where you're treated like a family and everyone gets along. At some point I wanted evidence of what was so bad about him. I wanted to see what my mother saw.

The final outcome:
After all these years, I found out he really was a cruel person; literally a sociopath faking it all; even our initial friendship. He never had intention of ever marrying me to form a family. He wanted to drain all my fertile years and marry me after I have my own business, marry me for money, was obsessed with my inheritance if my parents die.

Current situation:
After a couple sessions with a psychologist (and having emotional support from my family and close friends), I've recovered from all this. I've permanently blocked that monster. I'm with my 2nd boyfriend and all my friends and family (both parents) liked him from the beginning. He has been invited to have lunch at home with my parents. Finally I get to have a normal, peaceful reunion I've longed wished for but with someone else.

Would you call this a happy ending or sad?
