I'm turning 26 and thinking about "settling down" but I've always seen that term used when someone fucked off in their past and now want a real relationship. At least on the internet that's how it's described.
But I'm a virgin waiting until marriage, I've never had a girlfriend and never even been on a date, and here's why.
When I was younger I never had an interest in dating, I had other hobbies. The people I went to school with only dated just to have a temporary place holder so they don't look awkward, and I didn't agree with that. I saved dating for the future and decided to spend my younger years working on myself and my career.
I'm pretty conservative, I believe in traditional gender roles, I want to be the main provider of the household and would prefer a housewife/stay at home mom, although she doesn't really have to be. It seems impossible these days since the average American family income can't even afford a basic living, but I wanted to go against all odds and became a self employed day trader and I'm working on my real estate license.
Now I'm turning 26, I make enough to support a family with my income alone, recently got a mortgage on a nice big house with a white picket fence (had to have it), got my shit together and everything. Now I think it's time that I find a young virgin conservative girl who's also waiting until marriage to settle down with so we can one day have kids and have the nuclear family we dreamed of.

I noticed a lot reading comments on here that a lot of men who are traditional expect a housewife, even if they say they dont. They will say they dont because they are fine with her working a sidejob or having a passion project but the meaning is clear, she can have an idea of freedom but he still expects her to do her womanly duties regardless. I think this plays a lot into the push back against womens rights as well as issues like women doing all the housework while working 8 hours a week. Many men seem to think of his wife's job as essentially a hobby, something to keep her busy so she isn't bored at home, not a responsibility.

Men gave into women's rights but I think a lot of the expectations stayed the same because men were still in their gender norm position. From what I have seen of my father, despite his rather liberal nature he is pretty traditional and expects my mother to do the majority of the "women's work" around the house. I think this is because men brought up this way aren't taught how to do these things (like cooking, cleaning, organization), it is frustrating to them and puts them into a childlike state of confusion that they can't stand since they see themselves as tough men. These men were raised to focus on being tough and doing physically hard work, so mental work like cleaning and organization often baffles them. They were raised in a household with a mother who did most of the housework and they did the physical work for her, training them on physical labor but not the more "feminine" jobs.

My point with this long post is that if we make an effort to remove the expectations on men then I think we can really make jumps in removing womens expectations too. These toxic expectations of men often teach boys how the household should be run by a woman while he focues on male duties, and thus they spill over into the boys relationship and his expectations of the woman, he can't run a household effectively so he must expect it of his wife. Thoughts?
