Hello, everyone! I'm 17 years old and a sophomore in college. So, today, I checked my transcript and I failed college trig with a C-. To me, it just doesn't feel like I failed and I should of received at least a passing grade. I would usually be disappointed with myself with me failing a class, but I'm not because I know it's the teachers fault. There are multiple reasons why I'm blaming the teacher. 1) she actually did not teach us anything. Her class was just based on students teaching each other topics (brand new topics) without any lessons beforehand. 2) she might be holding grunge or something against me because I noticed my grade is close to passing. When I checked my grade on my final, I somehow received the exact same percentage on the last 2 tests (58%). Which is weird because how did I get the same exact grade twice. She also drop one of the tests if you do better on one of them. So, I don't know she tried doing this to not make me pass. 3. the class averages. Looking at the last two grade percentages, I was just astonished how bad the percentages were. So, on test 2, the average grade was a 53% and on the final, it was a 49%. With average grade percentages like these, something is going wrong with the teaching. Not only that, some of the stuff she assessed us on the tests, some of the stuff was never shown to us beforehand or given to us in the homework and hell, not even the textbook. Also, she's super unclear what she wants us to do and didn't tell us to do it in the question. Like for example, she told us to have a worded conclusion on proofs although she never told us in the question nor in class beforehand. So, today, I filed a complaint against the teacher for unfair treatment and going try to see if I can get my grade appealed. Do you guys think it'll go far and I can appeal my grade? So my Cousin introduced me to his MMA class. My cousin is a career cage fighter and has just earned his pro card.

This school also has legit fighters and teachers that have extensive records with Martial Arts, one guy we work with is a brown belt so far in BJJ, and the owner is an old guy who spent his whole life around Martial arts, learning various styles such as BJJ, Boxing, Wrestling, Karate and even Aikido. Every Sunday we would have teachers and practitioners from other schools come and teach us new things.

The school is a Mixed Martial Arts school (MMA), its primary (but not limited to) styles are Kryokushu Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), but it also teaches a bit of Boxing, Wrestling, Muay Thai and even a little bit of Aikido. The teachers take the most useful aspects (and ditch the useless) of different styles and combine it all in this class.

This schools does have a belt ranking system. I thought it was very odd that an MMA school had belt ranks, but I like the idea of having them displayed on my wall. The owner told me that it will take up to 10 years to reach black belt, which I'm willing to dedicate myself to.

The owner is not too worried about fees, so far my cousin and the owner has given me some lessons himself and I haven't payed a dime yet. I actually feel a bit guilty getting free lessons from people who payed so much money to learn this stuff.

This class is being taken in the owner's home garage, not in an actual Dojo. It has all the nessesary equipment, matted floors, matted walls, punching bag, heavy bag, speed bag, etc. It's in a secluded area and doesn't have a lot of members. This is where some people might become a bit skeptical, but all Martial Arts started this way.
