Boyfriend - me and my friend will come tonight. Do u have the hotel ready?
Old guy - yes just come and dress up at mine
Boyfriend - ok
Old guy - I can't wait to fuck you

And then boyfriend didn't reply

I confronted my boyfriend when he got out of the shower and I started crying:
Me - what the fuck is this? ARE YOU GAY?
Him - what the f is that? I dont know how I got those messages
Me - DUDE. Its your phone!
Him - I dont know how I got them? Its not for me.. I dont know this guy
Me - this is fuckin disgusting.. I dont know what to believe
Him - I can't believe you think Im gay...

So I matched with this guy two weeks ago. He’s 4 years older than me. He’s very intelligent, didn’t talk about sex, and seemed to wanna get to know my likes and interests and play 21 questions. I got his phone number and we texted and he texts back right away. We also video chatted a few times. I’m pretty shy and not that open. I’ve been having trouble with friends and needed someone to vent to and vented to him (mistake one I think that scared him away). I also vented about how I didn’t like my family that much (mistake 2 my parents yell a lot and are overbearing). We wanted to hang out on Saturday but I kept giving him the go around because I wasn’t sure if I wanted too. Friday night he said he got a text from his sister and will have to cut the convo short (it was a video call) and there was a family emergency that he won’t be around all weekend for and he’s upset about. I asked if he wanted to reschedule on Saturday - still no answer. He also unmatched with me on the app - not sure if it was recent or not but still. I don’t have the best self esteem and it shows. He isn’t mean or anything and was being polite but I was very vague in my question responses and there was a lot of awkward silences that entire hour we video chatted. We also stayed up until 3 the night before (Thursday night) video chatting and it was still awkward but not as awkward on Friday. I was tired and kinda bitchy and snappy about my friend. The guy hasn’t responded to any of my texts. I don’t know what I did wrong but okay. He said I seem like I wanna open up but I’m scared I might scare him away or something and he doesn’t bite lol and told me to have a good night and try to have a good weekend and he will talk to me tomorrow (Friday going into Saturday) and he never did. He genuinely seemed curious about my likes, dislikes, interests, music tastes etc and thank god not once did he mention sex or anything sexual and I’m so happy about that but still I don't know where I went wrong.

I'm not talking about walking through a door and deciding someone 10 seconds behind you isn't worth propping it open behind you. I mean that this person is less than 2 meters or so behind you and you can see their reflection but just walk through at let it slam, maybe they are even carrying things.

I work with someone who has become a red pill of the "men going their own way"/ racist variety. He mentioned in a working lunch with Berkshire Hathaway that he has joined this movement and doesn't hold doors open for women anymore... that was the least shameful part of his rant #executiveprivilegebutnotthatkind

It is really old fashion for a man you don't know to hold a door open for a woman to enter through first. But it's still pretty 2019 for everyone to keep a door propped for someone walking in behind them into office buildings. Women do it for men; men do it for other men.

But according to this guy in my company no more for women, it's 2019. I had my doubts about it until I found out he let a door slam on a coworker twice recently. She questioned him about it in the elevator and he's like "2019" women's lib. Okay but that is rude behavior regardless of sex.

The odd part is that he will hold the elevator open but not the door after he passes through. Actually he shut the elevator door on someone too, he's the "CEO" of a small company. He will hold it open for men or mixed groups.

I know a lot of the guys here will be able to explain his rationale. Women have had it too good for too long... the beat goes on.
