I've been seeing a lot of questions from people on here that express a clear incompatibility with their partner, in terms of their happiness, the functionality of their relationship, or both.

The reason I'm separating happiness and functionality is because I believe that while a relationship can be both, it can also be one or the other. People can be unhappy in a functional relationship, where everything seems to go smoothly and nothing stands out as being incompatible. On the other hand, people can be happy within a relationship that has clear logistical issues.

So, what is your relationship like? Is it functional? Are you happy? Are you single?

I was in a situation like that and it is definitely tempting to dump my girlfriend, I’m not gonna lie. But what kept me going was the happy memories that she gave me when we were first together and talking to her about it and after several long months I finally got over it and my love for her came back even stronger. I think what happened was I was just starting a new school year while in a relationship and I was trying to break the habit of checking other girls out because I was so used to being single.

About a half a year after I got over it, she got afflicted with it but unfortunately she caved in after a month and what was worse was that she never really told me and I never noticed the signs until it was too late. It devastated me so much that I would be lying if it told you I’m completely over her even though she left just under a year ago.
