I am 24. She knows my age. I know her from a class last semester in college and now I have her again in a class this semester in college. We did talk in the last class and this class a good amount of times. We did contact each other through email for class stuff and to wish each other happy holidays during break before spring semester. A week ago in a email, I said''Would you be ok with hanging out sometime as friends?'' ''I have to emphasis as friends even to a female friend because some women assume you are asking them on a date and others believe straight single men and women that are not relatives can not hang out one on one without it being a date.''I think it is ridiculous.''There is a female friend that I had in the past that I used to hang out with as friends one on one a lot.''Never had been on a date with her.''It was completely platonic just like when two guys hang out with each other, etc.''If I am interested in going on a date with a woman, I always emphasis,''want to go on a date.'' If I just view her as a friend, I say,''Do you want to hang out or chill sometime?'' ''Anyways it is up to you if you want to hang out or not. If you don't want to I won't be upset.'' People are not obligated to hang out with someone lol.''What counts is that we remain in contact with each other online and in person in class.'' She emailed back saying''Yes, let's hang out sometime.'' Right now my schedule is super full with drug court and trying to get internship and I have to attend 4 NA or AA meetings per week.''Let's see if we can figure something out for sometime in the future.'' Have a good holiday and I'll see you Wednesday.'' These emails between her and I were last Friday. If you think she rejected me, tell me why, if you don't know tell me why too.
