I might be in the minority here, but I don't see "reproduction" as a right.

Sorry, not sorry, I've just known too many people who grew up with parents who didn't know what they were doing/didn't want kids. I know too many abuse victims and kids born drug-addicted. Childhood loneliness, depression and stress are all going up and schools STILL don't have proper funding/distribution.

All of that aside, whenever you ask ANYONE if they're a good parent they will say "yes". 9 times out of 10 ignorant people think they're going "fine" while their children live in constant distress. People, especially Americans, tend to think that children only require clothes, food and getting to school on time. They don't realise/care that children are people, equal in value to their parents but brimming with potential.
Children have emotional needs. Children need to be nurtured in a way not everyone has the capacity to provide.

It disgusts me when I hear women talking about having children as if it's nothing. They talk about making a new person, a human being, condemned to live and suffer and die well after them, all because they "wanted a baby". It's an absolutely selfish stance to take, especially when you can't provide what that child needs.

No one asks to be born, but once you're here you're here. The best we can do for anyone born into this hellscape of a reality is try to mitigate the suffering they'll inevitably encounter through education, nurturing and providing a healthy lifestyle.
And that's not something most parents care to think about.

If you had your way, who would be allowed to have children?

I’ve worked at the same company for about 4 years now, and I used to work on the same floor as this man. There was some flirting between us, and a lot of staring, because we’d see each other every day so we’d had the opportunity to express interest. He never asked me out, but one time in the elevator he made it very clear he was interested (or so I thought) with some extremely obvious flirting.
i got a new job on a different floor, so I hardly ever see him anymore. Maybe like once a month. However, the other day, I noticed he was walking past the area I sit and (over the sea of cubicles) he turned and looked directly at mine as though he were searching for me. When he saw me, he smiled and I smiled back. I said hi, and he said hi back, still smiling. Later that day, I ran into him again and he just said a simple hi as he walked past.
Another time I was getting out of the elevator and he was waiting for it, and it was quite crowded with a lot of people, but when I got out his eyes were glued to me the whole time, and it was super intense.
i just don’t know if he’s even interested any more. Am I reading too much into this? Do you think he’s interested?
