Search Results: hard time communicating

This is going to be a long story. For that I apologize. I am seriously just at my wits end.

I met an awesome guy via a dating app. We met for dinner and hung out the very next night again. We talked for a week prior and he informed me that he was leaving the country for a month for work. He's a security contractor/analyst. He basically does what soldiers do and gets sent to foreign countries to aid in protection. After meeting him, I decided I was okay with this. We sparketed. He asked me to be his girlfriend before he left. I told him no. I wanted to see how we communicated, how I handled the distance and amount of time and I didn't want to rush something.

So he goes overseas for a month. I hear from him every day. We really get to know eachother because we have to talk. There is no physical distraction. At this point I fall hard. He comes back, I agree to be his girlfriend and we finally sleep together. Here's what's got me feeling weird. When he returned, my number somehow became blocked on his phone. ONLY my number. I called him from my friends cell. He said that his phone had been hacked and got a new phone and a new number. Remember this for later.

So for the next two weeks everything is awesome.. He tells me he loves me. I say it back because I felt it. Nine days ago, he had to leave last minute for an assignment in Guatemala because there was an issue with a client. He left last Tuesday. He was supposed to be gone for 5-7 days. It's day nine, I have tried texting him (not obsessively) and actually sent him a few stating that I was concerned. I am worried. I have not gone a day since we started dating without speaking to him until now. So tonight, my emotions and concern got the best of me. I tried calling him. I called his new number. No answer. It rang. He has service. Something in my gut told me to call his old number, It rang four times and was forwarded to voicemail.

I care for this guy. But I feel like something is up. Please help.

I was on and off and never official with this guy for a long time who really cared about me, but had been in the same relationship for almost a decade, his only one ever, and I knew he wasn't over it. after I moved away for a while and came back we started seeing eachother again but he thought I was pushing him too hard. it was like he couldn't communicate to me what he wanted. he is a good person, I know he wasn't out to just use me. at least I hope not, I like to think I know him better than that. but it's like he thinks relationships hold him back from life in general, at least it appears that's how his last one made him feel. but I need a relationship to make me feel secure. so, that's where the problems ensue. I have never felt more in love or attracted to anyone else in my life. we did have sex, but he didn't stress it. I am seeing some one right now, it's been months since I have talked to the guy I am referring to as I told him it wasn't going to work, and blocked him on my phone (he has been known to drunk dial me). anyway, the other night in a moment of weakness, as I have been through some rough situations lately, I called him. I hung up almost right away but he called back a bunch of times, left a voicemail, left a text. I was suprised that he was so... excited to hear from me after how harshly things ended. and the sad thing is, this isn't the first time things have ended badly for us, it's happened a few times but we always seem to find our way back to eachother. I blocked him again and told him I missed him but just couldn't talk right now and hoped he was well. is it possible he could be ready to give me what I need? or at least meet me half way? he thought I was too codependent, and I don't know how to show him that I'm not but his hesitation around relationships makes me uneasy. why would a guy be so excited to go back to something that caused so much drama? why would he act so eager like that?
