which means they would not be entitled to or have claim to anything either family has. also if the parents later separate. they risk the children losing claim to the other families benefits. so they only retain the benefits from whomever get primary custody over the children.

yes I know this seems like blaming the children. for their parents faults or mistakes. but would it also not fix some of the culture issues. people have these days with their unwillingness to get married and commit to just one person. since many people go about having children now. while raising them in broken homes. which over time hurts the children more then the parents.
