Search Results: mom expects too much

My mom and I have a great relationship, I tell her everything and I'm always honest. But sometimes, I feel like she expects way too much.

We were cleaning my guinea pigs' cage and I suddenly got an idea for a book to write and I rushed to write down the ideas on some paper.

My mom asked me immediately where I was, and I said I was coming, but she got really frustrated and said "you can't just dump me here" and "why are you so secretive on your phone". I told her I wasn't on my phone, but she kept thinking I was.

Then she almost starts crying and says "why won't you talk to me anymore", then I say "Im allowed to have my privacy, and I wasn't even on my phone".

Then she goes off saying "you know, you used to be this way about problems in the past" and "I dont know if we can be friends if you are going to be this way... Well, we had a good two years at least"... and so on. she also told me my friends could be a bad influence and they were the reason I was "acting" this way. All the time I tried to be calm and collected. Then I exploded.

I yelled at her saying I always was a good kid, I never lied to her and I always tell her everything... I told her I felt like I dont have any privacy and I dont feel like I have to tell her absolutely everything. I got angry because she brought up my hurtful past without any proof that was the reason etc. Then she blamed me for being dramatic and said "ok I'll shut up".

She came to me crying and saying sorry, but Im honestly still pretty mad.

Did my mom have the right to be angry at me like that?
