The issue of gun rights and gun control is a very hot topic in the U. S. However, many of the most active participants in the national debate (including politicians) are not necessarily informed about the nature of the firearms about which they're discussing legislation.

That said, I'd like to know: what experience do you have with guns, and how do you feel they should be treated?

For the purpose of this question, please only consider real firearms, not airsoft/paintball/etc. By the basic parts of a firearm and how they work, I'm referring to (using a rifle as an example) things like the upper and lower receiver, stock, grip, magazine, barrel, and sight; as well as knowing the different between different firing modes such as bolt/pump/lever-action, semi-auto, burst, and full-auto. Feel free to elaborate on your experience and your stance below!
