Five Of My Favourite Christmas Movies

So my friend, pal, yaara, lala, mate, (however you wanna say it) @NickiB wrote this awesome MyTake about her top 5 favourite Christmas movies:

And she nominated me to write a MyTake about my favourite Christmas movies, so here we are. Now this isn't like top 5 anything, so it's not like 1 is the best or whatever, I'm just literally thinking of the Christmas movies I like best and as I think of them I'm writing them down.

So here we go.

1) The Snowman

Firstly, to the British users, if you haven't seen this... Then bruh, are you even British?

Now this never gets old no matter how many times I watch it, and it comes on every Christmas Day and we never fail to watch it. My dad grew up watching it, so did my mum, and now me and my brother watch it, and our kids are probably gonna watch it too because it's a classic.

Lol, as a kid, singing along to the song that goes "we're walking through the airrrrrrrrrrr" tryna have the most beautiful singing voice, standing on the sofa trying to dance beautifully- and at the time- I thought I looked and sounded like the most elegant person in existence, but now I realise I looked like shit, and my parents probably thought:

What a twat.

Remind me what we're raising again?

Let's hope the boy one isn't as disappointing when he can walk.

And to those of you who don't know the plot the boy builds a snowman, he uses an orange for the nose, he goes to bed, he wakes up in the night for some reason, he sneaks outside somehow, the snowman is alive- and then they go flying around the world together and go to this snowman rave, then they go back, he goes back to bed, and I think in the morning he melts or something.

It's better than how I just described it, I'm not the best at describing movies- for example, I really have not sold High School Musical to my best friend who's never seen it, if anything I've made her think of it as worse than she did before, she's gonna watch it anyway because... Me. But anyway we're moving off topic here, next movie!

2) Jim Carey's A Christmas Carol

So I'm fond of A Christmas Carol for a lot of reasons.

Firstly, we studied it at school for GCSE and I really enjoyed those classes. On the last week before we broke up for Christmas holidays in Year 10, our teacher let us watch this and there was like a really ugly door knocker at the start and I turned round to my friend and said:

"That's you."

And then we all just started saying every character in the movie was her (we were only joking😂) and she was like:

"Plot twist... I am Jim Carey!"

And we were all there shooketh like:

And the thing is it was a really bad copy of the movie too, like half the screen was cut off, the voices were squeaky- but I enjoyed it anyways, and watched it again at home.

Then in Year 11, we had this "A Christmas Carol" debate and that was fun. And then that debate, brings back the memory of a debate we had in Year 10 (which was nothing to do with A Christmas Carol) and let's just say our teacher (who was an absolute legend by the way) pretended to be a violent father, and the son was a short kid in our class, and then our teacher tried to throw himself at the kid who was playing the son- and another kid pretended to restrain and a teacher who was walking past thought it was real and was looking in the classroom like:

And we were just sat there like:

But on a serious note, I really like the message "A Christmas Carol" is trying to deliver- in the sense Scrooge was a greedy mothertrucker at the beginning of the story, but Marley warned him, the ghost of Christmas past, reminded him of his childhood, his sister who died, his girlfriend who left him because money consumed him, his boss which was basically the opposite of a greedy mothertrucker, then the ghost of Christmas present where he gets empathy for the Crachits because of Tiny Tim (we joked about me being Tiny Tim by the way because I'm small and crippled) and then in the end he changes, gives Bob a payrise, becomes "like a second father" to Tiny Tim and feeds everyone on Christmas day.

I seriously think some people nowadays could do with watching the film, and see social responsibility in a positive light.

3) Jack Frost

I used to watch this movie all the time as a kid, only because I liked the snowman😂

And then it came on the other day, and I realised that the dad who dies is Michael Keaton the bad guy (Vulture) in Spider-Man: Homecoming!!😂😂

I didn't watch it all the other day though, because it only had a few minutes left of it but from what I can remember- the boy's dad dies, and someone his spirit is in the snowman, and for most of the movie they're basically tryna stop the snowman from melting because it's like his dad dying again.

And then the Snowman turns to dust in the end, (like in Infinity War😂💔) and then the Michael Keaton ghost says goodbye.

It was a good movie that just brings back nostalgia so it earns a place on this list!😂

4) Gremlins

This movie made me laugh so much😂😂

And Gizmo is adorable but I can imagine he would be a pain in the butt to look after, because if I accidentally spilled my tea on him you'd get those ugly little things spawning out of him- they're so mean as well😂

They are funny though, like when they went to the cinema to watch Snow White😂😂

So this earns a place on the list because why not?😂

5) Arthur Christmas

Okay so the elves in this movie are everything😂😂

And Arthur is really goofy too- and you can never fault goofiness😂😂

Plus I like the whole "santa-legacy" idea, even if Santa is a lie😂

I remember in school once we watched this as an end of term reward, and then after the film they turned on a Christmas song and we sang to that (very badly) the kid behind us just kept on going "AHHHHHHHH" for the whole song😂😂Then they decided to put on "Man's Not Hot" by "Big Shaq"😂😂😂And we sang along to that too😂

Oh good times😂

So that's me done, I said I'd do it later, and I've done it later- "it" being writing this MyTake😂😂
