Polls: Travel

For me, I like a short vacay of like 4 days, 3 nights or 3 days, 2 nights. Anything shorter is too short. Anything longer is too long. And i like for it to be planned in terms of what I’d do and where I’d stay. But i like it to be unplanned as to when I’ll actually go. Thats about the most spontaneous I’ll get.

Like I had been planning to go to Vegas since I was 12. The goal was to go by 21 but it always got postponed because I was trying to wait around for others to be financially ready. I had already knew where I’d stay/play/shop, what I’d sightsee/visit/eat once there. But i just never knew when I’d actually get to go. All my men and friends kept making up excuses. My job was never gonna cut me break. So one day, I just up and said, fck it, I’m going with or without y'all and fck that job too. I booked the reservations and had a brilliant time for the days I stayed. I did it again for North Carolina. Once I get back in the groove, I’ll just keep planning things to do but not the actual date for when I’ll do it. Next stop is hopefully Dallas or Miami/Tampa/Orlando but I dread the 5-6 days I’ll be gone since I’ll need about 2 days per city. Then after that will likely be NYC or Bahamas or Canada. Now when it comes to Aspen or Australia, I refuse to go alone. I need a witness in case fall down a mountain or get attacked by a shark, croc, spider or snake 😭

I'm feeling really conflicted about this. Basically, my company is flying people out from around the country to my city and we're going to spend two days in a row together (which was optional, but I decided to go to the offsite to meet people).

After spending all day together, we're going out to dinner on one day and doing an activity on the other day. I agreed to do the activity, but told my boss I won't be attending the team dinner on the other night.

I'm an introvert, and I wanted to have that time to decompress, but now I'm feeling bad since people are traveling so far for this.

Did I do the right thing declining, especially since I'm spending the rest of the two days with them?

I plan on getting a house soon and I want to get a second vehicle for camping trips (I currently just have an '09 Honda Civic) but I'm not sure what would be best for that.

Turkey- I would visit Istanbul and Ankara

USA- small roadtrip around Fort Davis, TX for a star party -Carlsbad caverns-Roswell-Ruidoso (stay at a cabin) and White Sands national park New Mexico.

I want to get rhinoplasty in Tehran, Iran due to the price being very affordable (almost half the price of Turkey).

I have had contact with a persian friend who lives there and he said its safe for the most part as a tourist but I don't know. What do you think?

What should I be prepared for? I want to go there with my male friend. Is that okay?
