I think the democrats are intentionally trying to get him in the limelight with the FBI raid. I think Trump in all likelihood did something boneheaded but not criminal. It was enough to give them an excuse to raid Mar-a-logo but not enough where he will likely be convicted of a crime. This helped the democrats get the negative attention of Biden and helped boost their chances at doing better in the midterms.

However Merrick Garland and White House democrats secretly don’t want Trump to be convicted of a criminal charge.
