Why is relationship advice on forums such as this and Reddit so extreme/over the top?

You can write a post about how your husband or wife, girlfriend or boyfriend didn’t really speak to you all day. That they didn’t tell you Goodmornjng like they usually do and the comments will be “Leave them. Are you dumb? He/She doesn’t love you.”
“You deserve better. Pack your things and be gone by tomorrow. Make sure you have a safe place to go to and Oh, don’t forget the restraining order.” 😭 like it’s always so extra over something so small.

People around here are extremely quick to say "break up" about every little thing. They don't even know anything about the people involved, and are only hearing a small part of one side.

Maybe this is part of the modern entitlement mentality. Everything has to be the way they want it, or GTFO.

Part of the problem is the question themselves. People ask questions like "My boyfriend broke up with me. Why?". They don't give any other information and expect people to know why.

Which leads to another part of the problem. People are too impatient to read more than two sentences. We have fallen victim to the SMS technology.

Because people have a habit of applying thier own personal experiences to the situation which are typically everything but accurate.🤣 That and to make matters worse people typically choose the most EXTREME result. Usually because thier post is based off unresolved feelings in thier own lives. So if he or she cannot get satisfaction in thier own lives they want to get satisfaction in yours.😂

Just try to remember it's the internet and hyperbole reigns here.

Yea. Even with some of the cheating post I see. Now I don’t condone cheating and being dis honest and possibly spreading STDS but at the same time it’s like, everyone has their reason for doing what they do. Even if it’s cheating. That guy or woman may feel like they’re missing something with you and that’s the hard truth. Most people won’t say that because the cheater is always the one 100% wrong when it comes to these forums but that’s only because no one wants to be cheated on. Another big thing with cheating is age. When you’re in your early twenties, in a relationship, especially a long term one, you’re gonna step out. It’s easy to say “Well just tell your partner you’re aren’t happy.” When realistically it’s not even that, they just want more or even if they are unhappy, how easy would that be to say to your girlfriend or boyfriend? It isn’t right but neither are most things us as humans do but it doesn’t make us bad people or a bad person to be with. We just all have a vice to us and I feel like these forums see things so one sided/black and white. Sometimes you have to put things into perspective. Ultimately should you stay in a unhappy relationship or marriage, no but let the reason for you leaving be YOUR own reason and not reasons from people on these sites who 90% of the time just projecting.

Like people on these sites will try and tell you what your partner is thinking and why they did what they did and you being hurt already, you just listen and believe them and forget “Hey, they don’t even know my partner personally. They only know what I put out there. So, how could they conclude all this?” Lol it’s just a crazy thing to see.

I definitely don't condone cheating either, but I agree with what you said. It must be a decision made within the relationship. Outside opinions shouldn't matter, other than in very, very specific situations.

It's one thing to ask for advice. It's an entirely other thing to ask for someone to make the choice for you.
