What does it mean If a guy nods his head at you?

Today this guy in my class that I think is cute opened the door for me and then he nod his head at me. I was walking and I saw him walking in front of me with his friend. He turned and looked at me and then as he was approaching our classroom door he ran in front of his friend and held the door open as I was walking in he looked at me and nod his head at me with s smile.
