When someone calls you a 'unicorn'?

When you guys call someone a unicorn, or say "you're a unicorn to me" to someone you're dating/talking to what does it mean?

This guy I'm dating now calls me it as a nickname and he says it's because of my looks but I looked up "unicorn" and it seems the dating definition is a bisexual female who has sex with a straight couple? What do you guys mean if you refer to someone as that?

Yes this was used properly although it can mean different things under different context. In the way they are using it it means A Woman that checks every box on the list, she's hot, she's funny etc. But she fits your description of a love interest so perfectly she is a unicorn. A rare mythical creature that is so rare most people have never seen a real one and it is commonly believed that such a woman/beautiful creature does not exist.
Another description would be a woman with a horn hidden between her legs if you get my meaning so like I said it depends on the context in which he used it.

Folks, if the word is to be taken out of its real context, then let's not make it about women alone. The word can also literarily be used to depict the 'know-it-all-ish' kind of folks who can at times give the impression of arrogance, boastfulness, disrespect etc., in an all-negative sense. The word can also be used positively. It all depends on the context to me.
