Does anyone know why Bumble shows a match’s city but not distance?

I was recently chatting with this guy and he lives about 8 miles from my home. He’s an active member. I read the app’s GPS is only activated when the person opens the app. Ok, so he tells me he rarely drives to my town. This past weekend I see he’s in my town (3.7 miles away) and then no distance is shown. Does that mean he was in my neighborhood? Not that I’m saying he’s a stalker. Just curious?

Yeah probably was not far , I get distances when they are active but not if they are inactive, then I just get miles. Unfortunately I’ve never had a connection yet

Thanks. Was tripping out since I suspected he was near my house. Not that he was stalking me. Just so weird. So-are the women just as flaky? Guys are flaky and matches go nowhere. ☹️

Yeah it seems so , they can’t tell where you are, it just shows how close they are at times if you have location on in your settings for that app. But I’m not sure what is going on with mine since I don’t get any matches and I don’t think I’m that hideous looking, lol, I think some go there for attention or are really picky

Awww... don’t feel too bad. I get few matches too and I’m decent looking too. And the few matches I do get-go nowhere. I have met three guys and neither was a good fit. Probably should not agreed to meet two of them. Guess I was curious what was out there on Bumble?

If you read the reviews online, a lot of people have the same complaints. Matches not responding or saying hi and then disappearing. May delete the app soon since I should focus on people in person, such as my gym.

Yeah ithese dating sites are starting to give me low self esteem since I rarely get a response on other sites too. It’s not easy for me to meet anyone in person or even know if they are available

Yup, have to have thick skin!! That’s all I can say. Have had friends actually delete these apps out of frustration. We’ll see if this new match goes anywhere. Not holding my breath. I think he knows my full name, which is easy to search with a few details. So just hope he was coincidentally in my neighborhood admiring the trees. 😳

I think I have learned not to get my hopes up and not take anything personally. Harder said than done. So many of these matches disappear and others are dating multiple people. That’s online dating for you. Best of luck! Can’t give up hope though.

The distance feature is probably disabled when you get too close, so that the app doesn't become a stalking tool.

Yeah, I’m thinking when you are very close (less than a mile) from you-it shows no distance. Scary what these apps can show.

Yes sounds like not too far i would be careful , they need to do something about these apps and how they work.

I live a few miles outside a city. Any women I match with from that city don't show a distance. Anywhere else it does.
