Guys, would you reply to girl's story on IG/ sliding in her DM’s twice if you had no interest in her?

Guy and girl don’t talk and have never been friends. Guy replies twice to her story (she posted both times about her big life event).

I'll often send a quick reply to a story if I find it interesting and have something to say, even if I don't necessarily know the person who posted it that well. I used to be really shy about that stuff, but recently I care a lot less — I have become much more confident over the years, but it also helps that my girlfriend is in my IG profile picture, which helps reduce the risk of someone thinking I'm flirting. To answer your question, yes, it's very likely that this guy is simply being courteous in replying to you, especially given the context you described. However, he could actually be into you and just not know how to express it, resorting to "safe" interactions so as not to scare you off. At the end if the day, it's impossible to tell what someone is truly feeling just based on a couple of messages. The best thing you can do is convey whatever sentiment you want, regardless of what you think he's up to. If you're not interested in him romantically, just let it be and don't bother worrying about it. If you are, try to strike up a conversation with him (maybe reply to one of his stories) and see where it goes from there.

U have very good points. I was just suprised that he would be ”courteous” when we’ve talked on social media only just once and I initiated it. IRL we’ve had two short conversation years ago. So as you see our contact has been very limited.

well more than once is already a form of interest because thats already out of the friendly intention cause he didn't have to do it but he decided to do it again, on the first you kinda feel forced to do it back cause the person did it once so you feel like you should but a second time, thats on him
