Hi guys, I don't know If you listen about 16 personalities test, but I think that I have a problem. This test perfectly describes my person and my behavior. This test you Can find clasically on the Google, when your write "16 personalities test" But let's go to my probem. I am a ENFP personality and I am single all of my life. Every boy I flirted with was a liar, not my type or he had other ideas for the future. According to the table of relationgship and compability of personalities I have match only with ISTJ and ISFJ personalities. I read that these personalities make up the smallest percentage of the world population. I would like to ask: is anybody here who is ENFP personality and have the same problem with relationships? I don't think that I am demanding to choose a partner, but when there is no chemistry, it doesn't work
I think what it is is that you have to learn to love yourself as a person. Not self-love, but understanding how God made you and appreciate that. If other people, regardless of personality don't do that, then it causes a problem. Your type is also looking for mine which is INFJ for the male side. But other than that, it really all depends on what do YOU personally seek and desire in a partner. Any personality type can work, but almost everything in common doesn't always guarantee a healthy relationship if you or the person isn't healthy with your personality and character. I don't know too much about ISFJ guys I only have ISFJ female friends so far. But ISTJs you have to be extremely careful if they aren't healthy. You have Fi 2nd, they have it 3rd. So they're emotional level if you're looking for closeness which tends to be inward as you should know they may not be what you're looking for. I'm not saying go for my personality, but maybe somebody who has a healthy balance is more better for you because your sound very sensitive and you need to be with somebody who respects and loves your sensitivity as an ENFP.
ISTJs are to the book kind of people. ISFJ is 2nd in line. Judgers by nature may not always care about how you feel as long as it gets the point across. INFJs and even some ISFJs care because we already have Fe. But the difference is we understand that while feelings are important after a while the ISFJ wants the facts, INFJs wants the facts if it's relevant to what we see for the future. We put feelings only when our Ti evaluates if what we're feeling meets the present situation and meets the future outcome. ISTJs don't care about that. They're literally just about the facts unless they learn to value your feelings as much as theirs. Not to generalize, but it best to understand what exactly you seek in a partner and what types do you NATURALLY gravitate to. Not what the chart says. It should be used as a basic guideline and not as a say all be all.
Like they say your type, ENTP, ESTP, INTJ, INTP, and even INFP or other INFJ works, and I'm like... uhhhhhhh. I have never dated. But attracted more and likely INTJ, INTP and ENTP or ESTP. The E's are sadly a NO-NO. I'm unsure about INFPs, the many I have encountered on here are toxic as hell and attack you like you never believe. ISFPs are somewhere towards the middle negative. I have experience shock and heartbreak from them and many as the ISFP's freak me out. ESFPs are too wild. ISTPs are unpredictable. I don't know too much how INTPs feel, except maybe one who had a crush on me when I was a preteen. But one or two I met on here are okay. ISTJ depending are so-so. Some respect me, others act like I don't exist. Same with some INTJs. ESTP acts full of themselves depending on the guy. But a healthy one may not be that bad. I have yet to meet an ISFJ guy, but I think we may get along. But anyway. As you can see not everybody is the same. But until you meet different people you have no idea who you may be compatible with personality-wise. But standards, morals, beliefs, etc about love, sex, marriage, children, God, faith, etc, is going to matter way more than just hobbies and shared interests. Save that for friendship. But start as friends and try to build relationships with different kinds of personalities and get a feel of what is more comfortable for you. The real toxic ones I must warn: LEAVE THEM ALONE.
@Jersey2 Maybe if they're healthy but I never seem to get along with them. A lot of them are closed off around me or don't like me. So again, I'm talking about my experiences. I don't think all of them do it to other people. I tend to get 9/10 people disliking me off the bat, While 1/10 people are at least interested. I'm the same way, but again they don't like me.
I am one. We often come off as not liking people when that is generally not true as we accept many people except those that do us wrong and even then we can get over that. Just a thought. Have a good day.
Actaully. No im really not liked. I can tell by your energy and how you communicate with me. I know people who pretend. Theu literally mock and be snotty around me.
I can mind my own business and then they start behaving that way towards me. You do not sound like you just just like a person. It's not like you're aloof INFJs are like that also. I don't have to do anything to cause a person to not like me, they just do. And ISTPs I encounter do that to me, not others.
It's highly problematic as a way of testing as the outcomes are very binary - you're X or you're Y, but it's impossible to be a bit of both. People are much more complex than that. The fact people can repeat the test in a different mindset and get different results shows its nothing more than a fun time quiz with no real merit.
And I think at least the tests describe my weaknesses very well. I'm impulsive. Somehow I find myself in leadership positions at work but I hate administration and managing people (I just wanna explore cool ideas). I like to create stuff more than putting the time into mastering their technicalities.
Before I met my wife, I also seemed to invite some of the worst girls. I think I'm being reasonably objective about this. I got engaged to a bipolar girl who called off the wedding just weeks after I paid and arranged for everything. I got into one with a hypochondriac and germaphobe who hated when I went down on her but would complain that I was causing her pain sexually so our sexual experiences were cut off (a boatload of cuddling -- very little sex). I got stoners. I got party girls -- nothing wrong with party girls but I mean girls who just live for nothing else but the party. I think one of my problems before and it might be the ENFP type is that you tend to trust everybody -- innocent until proven guilty -- that sort of thing. Like you wanna see people in a good light always.
I also don't know if this is true of other ENFPs or if there's much legitimacy to this stuff at all, but I have a bit of addict thing. I like doing things in the extremities -- sports, studies, adventures, and an addiction to adrenaline rushes... but it also translates very badly to substances like alcohol and narcotics -- especially when accompanied by a broken heart. I'm just glad I never tried heroin since I have little doubt that I could become a heroin addict.
That whole compatibility chart is nonsense. Someone who is your polar opposite is most definitely not going to be a good match for you.
Moreover, ENFP and ENFJ (very similar personality types, both falling under the diplomat archetype) having ISTJ as either the best OR the worst match? That makes no sense whatsoever.
Just ignore that chart, it's clearly a bunch of thoughtless nonsense. The best match for you is, obviously, going to be the personality that's the most close to yours- so other ENFPs, ENFJs, INFJs, INFPs.
As an ISTJ, I can tell you right off the bat that I would never, ever date an ENFP.

I've taken the test a number of times and resulted in being ENTJ. While the descriptions does match my persona very well almost entirely, I'd still take it with a pinch of salt as it isn't recognized as a valid method by the majority of psychologists. It's too much of a simplistic reduction of the human mind and its functions I believe is the gist of the critique launched at it. But it's still a fun thing. As long as people don't start as they do with zodiacs and are all; No I can't date an INFJ as an ENTP blah blah.
This is all in your head. I’ve taken this test multiple times in different stages of my mood and different days and I am all sorts of things. They all are very relatable in some shape or form. Please don’t base your life around this nonsense. Nobody will respect you or take you seriously enough. You’ll just be a weirdo.
That's very disrespectful for you to assume that. There isn't anything wrong per se is taking it seriously, it wouldn't still be relevent if it isn't. It's like with anything else, depends on what you choose to do with it. It's less to do about moods it's about understanding SELF. There is in-depth anylasis that does explain how each personality type go through life in many different life stages. Some personalities like myself as an INFJ can something feel like INTJ or even INFP mostly because of background and age. The older you get the more you begin to go through changes. That doesn't mean your personality change. It would have been something very impactful in your life for it to happen and it is possible. However, if you're not being honest with self you can mistype. Just remember that you are more than just your type and how you mentally function is more important than your description. You may relate to more than one type, but only ONE is really you while the other may be a mask you put on in public or you imitating what you want but isn't in reality. It depends on your perspective of what you're looking for.
I can safely tell you that learning about my type and a few others around me have helped me better understand and grow with my personal relationships with my friends and loved ones. I learned to better communicate, and have a sense of understanding what makes them work and what doesn't. It helped me better understand that my intuition is NOT a CURSE. But a gift from God and how I have to use it as my first function is a major responsibility. Especially as a Christian. It's more heightened as a spiritual believer than those who are carnal, who may only operate but so far unless they don't know how to use it well. That takes practice. Understanding how my father is an ESTJ and looking it up tells me why my parents, mom being the same type as me, CLASH so often. They have similar belief systems but does it vastly different. If neither couple is healthy as neither of them wasn't, it greatly affected the marriage and it was toxic. If couples don't make a conscious effort to truly understand how you work it can damage a person's personality and mental health. Something to really think about. If a person thought of me as a weirdo. I rather not deal that with that person because they lack the maturity to understand my desire and interest in them as people. NOT to do dictate who or what they are. But how they work so I can better have an understanding and form a better healthy relationship. Other than that, if I don't know what type of person I'm dealing with I could be hurting myself.
@btbc92 sorry but of course you’d take offense to this since you’ve fully invested so much of your life and this is how you life your life. If you know the Bible then you ought to know that God speaks against the occult and things that are of this world and this stuff is such as horoscopes where people decide what to do with their life based on such studies and not on what God has called them to do. This is extremely dangerous as a believer for you to be invested on something other than the Bible and explanations of the world. Your parents relationship was due to not having a deeper understanding with God and not because they didn’t learn this BS personality stuffs. These things are constantly changing, God does not. You need to be firm on God’s teaching not on some personality fake news that’s like I said, related and relevant to everyone at some point. So yes, people who make decisions and judge others based on such silly things are indeed weirdos.
MBTI does not have to be occult. It's what you choose to do with it. I invest entirely in the Bible and in the world of God. But sadly if you're going to be so quick to judge a person without even evidence the person is messing with an occult please do not assume. If you're messing with that enneagram crap. THEN I can say you are. First of all. No. My parents were already toxic because their families depending on whom was not healthy. Period. My late mother was and is very much a Christian and believed in God. My father who isn't a Christian believes in the Black Hebrew Israelite nonsense. For you to say I am not firm in God'steachings says a LOT about you and not me. I have my personal relationship with God and I do not use that for those reasons. Yes, these things are constantly changing but so are people. God is the father and he isn't changing like the world, no. But when you are dealing with people, God does have different personalities of people due to a person's soul. You do not need to mess with that stuff to understand the psychology of people. God knows this, Jesus knows this. That's why when Jesus was here he spoke as he spoke to different people and knew how to communicate. He preaches the gospel the same but interacted with people DIFFERENTLY. That is all the MBTI shows which are highly different than Carl Jungs Archytype nonsense. If you want to talk about the occult, your speaking about him.
Firstly I am not taking offense. I am telling you to have some respect instead of calling people weirdos for having an understanding of others. It wouldn't matter what test etc you are asked to take. It's very clear something is bothering you as you seem very hostile about something personal. Less to do with the test. I am no expert myself. And I don't obsess over it. But to have a sense of understanding people is one thing and I ask God to show me how to better communicate as such. If you find it to be something that is personally affecting you then it has to do with yourself. Not me. As I told you before, it is just an overall test about how you mentally function. They have studies that actually show that. You do not need to mess with that other stuff that dabbles into something else. Not everything you read is exactly as stated. But the functions mentally do matter.

To be honest if you ask me think of that of me that goes to show you you know less of me than what you actually wanted to find me. This doesn't matter. Your problem is probably you go after the same type of guy everytime you date. This is the problem most people have you find a comfort zone amd you stick to it you never venture out into the unknown and date someone who gets you out of your co. fort zone amd makes you feel uncomfortable and new so most people just stick to what's familiar and then questions why their relationships are garbage.
Read the Wikipedia article on MBTI. It's not scientific. Ignore it and date whoever attracts you. My wife and I are both introverts and we are perfectly happy together. I know many happy couples where both are extroverts or introverts.
MBTI tells you a bit about people, but it's a model. There are not 16 types of people out there. People are a full spectrum. This is a way of thinking about how some people might operate like you or differently, and understanding how to work or relate to them better.
I wouldn't pay too much head to the compatibility chart. Even if there are generalities which are true. Everyone is an individual. And as individuals, the individuals they mat h well with are different. Regardless of the personality classification they belong to
I don’t remember which I took. I have taken online and written tests which were done at companies I worked at. There is an online one that has about 80 questions which seemed reasonable for typing someone, I think you could find it or one like it. I come up as ISTP not matter how many times I take it.
I find it strange that the table matches you with I*** people. I have a much easier time bonding with other extroverts, at least for serious relationships.
