Guys, Would you judge your date for having an old house?

I’m 20 and live at my parents house. It is extremely old and the garden is overgrown and neglected. We’re not poor or anything, my dad just takes pride in the fact he has lived here for 40 years and doesn’t want to renovate.

My date is picking me up for dinner and I’m quite embarrassed of my house, so i’m worried he might judge me. Would you judge a girl if her house is old and ugly?

There is a different between old house and not well maintained.

my house is around 200 years old (the main part).

it does however have modern double glazing, en-suite for all four bedrooms, a wet room etc.

I grew up in an inner city housing scheme (council housing) and the houses were shit.

anyone put off by your home is simply not worth bothering with.

I used to judge people for living in old houses. But I don't anymore. I understand that historic preservation is sometimes a good thing. You don't always have to tear down and rebuild. (Just be aware of mold and asbestos).
Also, some people don't have the choice, because old houses are often cheaper.

New houses are as likely or more likely to be crap in some ways.

However a neglected home isn't good. However it reflects more on them than you.

and what house do you own? none. and what house does your date own? most likely none. so your dad's in a better spot than you are and without him or his old ugly house you'd be sleeping on the street or under an abandon building somewhere or in the backseat of a car or i know better yet you'd be forced to get off your whiney ass and get a job and i don't know do what other normal adults do pay rent in your own apartment like a real adult does

I would not care. Housing and house upkeep is expensive. What would matter to me is if it looks like you made an attempt to care for the place or not.
