Long story short. This girls really nice pretty and smart. She's got a lot going for her. But my family's racist so. What to do?

I dated a guy that faced the same situation as you: he liked me, wanted to date me, but because his family, particularly his father, was racist, he was afraid to date me. Yet he liked me.

He tried dating me "secretly." By that I mean no one knew of our relationship except us. He was too afraid to tell his family and friends he was dating a black woman for fear of how they would treat us.

Long story short? It didn't work out. He wouldn't stand up to his family and quite fairly, I didn't like him having to hide he was with me all the time; as if he was ashamed of me. Eventually, he wound up marrying a white woman because he wanted to keep his family happy; I'm not sure how they're doing but, yeah.

My point is, please don't waste her time if you don't intend on sticking up for her, or if value your family's input more than a relationship with her. Because it will not work out. If you like her, screw what others think! You're a grown man- you can date who you like. And if your family doesn't approve, keep her away from said toxicity.

If you’re not willing to confront your family and leave them behind, then DO NOT WASTE THAT GIRLS TIME. I have dated 3 guys whos fams turned out to be racist. The Asian didn't even standup for his black friends so i knew he wouldn't stand up for me if the day to meet them ever came. One of the white dudes moms literally unhinged his door from his bedroom to insure she could spy on his conversations to make sure he wasn't talking to me. She hated black people because her dad left her mom for one. And this other dude, he just simply said he’d get sexual with me but couldnt take me home to his mom because she preferred he married white. So i ended that before it even began.

Honestly I'd date her and put some distances between yourself and your family. People can get so wrapped up in what their family thinks and feels that they take themselves out of the equation when it comes to how they live their life. Take it from the black sheep of the family.
