The guy I am talking to, his close friend died this weekend, but he is online and leaving my messages on seen and not talking to me. Why?

This is a red flag. A close friend dying is not an excuse to ignore someone and refuse to communicate. If someone is so down about a recent passing to where they're not in the mood to socialize, they wouldn't log into a socializing platform. He's online because he's talking to someone, he's just refusing to talk to you.

Give him time to grieve. Just because he is online don't mean he want to talk or is talking with anyone. Stay away for a while. Just only leave short messages that wish him well.

I don't know, I've had lots of people close to me die, but I could still manage to reply to a message. Some people are very dramatic and they do weird shit. Unless you lose your child or something incredibly painful like that, most people should be okay enough to text.

For me I've lost my dad and my brother, but still had to get my son ready for school and go to work and carry on with life.
There's certain situations like losing your spouse that you love, or finding out your wife is cheating, that can make a man speechless and almost suicidal for a while. Losing your child is not even something I want to think about.
Maybe your boyfriend isn't as experienced with losing people yet given your age and he's a bit shocked by it. Hopefully he'll try to pull himself together and move forward because life will get much harder in the future.

Hard to say, but it would be nice if he could just leave you a message to explain so you know what's going on with him.
