How many people have you dated but it didn't work out before you met your partner or even if you are single, how many people have you dated throughout your dating life before reaching the point in life you are in right now.

I lost count. Maybe 40 or something like that? It might seem like a lot and especially for a married guy but I traveled all over the place for my work in my youth.

A lot of my relationships ended up becoming very short-lived as a result since I'd often have to move somewhere else to a different company-rented apartment/hotel after some months or after the year. I also tended to invite a lot of women in the same boat (ex: meet them at the hotel) only visiting the area for the summer, e. g. I wanted something serious but I got a lot of flings instead as a result of all the traveling.

I always wanted a lifelong partner though and finally found one with my wife. By the time I met her at a picnic, I was so sick of dating and trying to make lasting relationships that even though I initially liked her quite a bit and we became very flirty, I didn't date anyone for almost a year. Then finally I dated her.

This was over around ten year period. I began dating at university and then I met my wife when I was around 27. I also picked up a lot of women in bars and clubs which might not have been the most ideal place to look for a potential wife, although not for simple hook-ups. We actually went on dates.

My pattern was that I'd date around a bit, then find a serious girlfriend, then we'd break up (ex: with my first serious girlfriend in university, we ended up moving to opposite sides of the country after graduating for our careers), then I'd get a bit disappointed and date around a bit again. Most of the numbers I accumulated in between serious girlfriends, of which I only maybe had four (my wife being the fourth, and I got engaged to be married to the third).

Cheers! I also admittedly had a few lapses between serious relationships where I was just down for good times and fun with girls, although I never dated more than one at a time, and was still halfway hoping something very long-term and meaningful could come out of it.

I never did ONS though. The few times I hooked up with a girl like that, I wanted to keep dating the next day! I never understood the point after we made it that far and have experienced each other this way to then go our separate ways. I thought we already did enough to become a potential item.

2 kind of serious relationships. And like 10-15 small relationships. Can't even remember lol it was like dated for a week/month and was over so I don't count those. The kind of serious like they met my parents and took me on little dates.
