Why are short women picky about height?

I guess height in a guy looks like strength virility to girls. Or maybe they are evolutionarily programmed to be attracted to guys who look big and strong for the same reason guys are evolutionarily programmed to be attracted to the kind of female form that can bear and nurture children.

But it seems odd to claim that guys of average height can't get girls. It's not true if you go outside and look around. 5'9" is actually average height and there are plenty of shorter guys than that with female partners.

Only 14.5% of American men are over 6' tall. So if women refuse to look at anyone shorter than 6', 14.5% of women would never have boyfriends or husbands. And the claim that women will only pick tall guys is an assumption that the average woman is so shallow as to not appreciate more important traits in men.

Because to both short women and tall men, shortness equals femininity and tallness equals masculinity. Which is also why short women are seen as "more attractive" to tall men (not other men; only tall men) and tall men are seen as "more attractive" (to ALL women). It's dumb, but it is what it is.

While something like 70% of women are considered short (5'6" and under), only 20% of men are considered tall enough (six feet and over). So this disproportionately favors women, which is why MOST straight women - 96% specifically - only want tall men, ideally, while very, VERY few straight women - 4% - are fine with men same height or shorter than them.

As a short guy, I assure you it sucks being single for the rest of your life solely due to not being tall enough for any woman out there you'd like...

I'm 5'1" and it's not hard to find a guy taller than me, at all. I'm picky over guys over 5'10" because I get conscious about the height difference, how we look together. Of course that isn't the case if we've really connected and are really compatible together.
I once ignored the advances of a guy because he was 6'4", we really clicked so well but that thing about the height I couldn't get out of my head. I was kind of an a-hole I'll admit. (also it seemed like he was 50% into me because of my height 🤣)

I like tall guys. My boyfriend is like 6-2”. I think if I converted it right. I’m 4-11…1/2” n he is perfect to fit my head in his chest.

Because they can, they want to get the best men AKA tall men, even if they short.

Short girls are more open to guys of shorter stature than taller girls. Because height preference is generally related to the size of the woman's own body.

Most women are, but you're right, I find it really interesting that really short women want REALLY tall guys it seems. Not just "taller than they are", but like want well over 6'. Which isn't realistic anyway for any woman, but ok whatever. Stay single then lol. Limit your "options" even further. Then they wonder why they are single!
